Re: Stuck In a Rut Posted: 12-29-06 11:43am
Hey, jim.
I'm finishing university this year (in a
six months time or something very close to
this).
Very often, I feel misplaced and I think
that i've chosen the wrong course and even
the wrong careen to pursue my studies and
my worklife.
But still i'm completing this cycle - my
course -, knowing that, even that it may
not have been the best choice of a course
that I could have done, by the time I made
that decision, it was the most appropriate
one. And I like my course, though
sometimes I think I should have chosen
another one, more directed to some
specific areas.
The unemployment rates in portugal are
high and it's very hard to find a job in
the area i'll be applying for
(multimedia).
I'm having my practice during the next
semester - I don't know where, but i'm
sure that when the three months of
practice end, it will be it - and i'll be
out of job.
I'm thinking of applying to the leonardo
davinci programme, a programme for
students who have finished they courses.
This allows them to work for a few months
abroad. Last year, there was a vacancy
for a job in multimedia in some company in
brighton. If there another one like this
one this year, i'm probably going to take
a shot. I'd love to go to england.
Having a girlfriend may not be the end to
your problems. I have a boyfriend and I
still have problems. big
problems.
I hope your mother get better; I know
what's like to have people suffing from
cancer in the family, because two of my
grandparents died of cancer.
Think about what you'd like to do, embrace
something new all by yourself, take a
gap-year... Just be true to yourself.
