My last period was on 11/22/06, I was due
for my period around 12/19/2006. On the
19th I had some blood streaked discharge
on the toilet paper when I wiped. This
happened once and then for 5 days after I
had some brown discharge occasionally when
I wiped. I took a couple of hpt's and they
turned up negative, I had a blood test
done on the 26th and that was negative. I
have never missed a period before (except
for when I was pregnant with my son).
Could it have been too soon for me to
test?
Is it possible to have this happen with an
ovarian cyst? I am just scared something
might be wrong.......
Thank you for any input you can give.

It seems that all the pregnancy tests
you’ve done are valid; according to
their results, you are not pregnant. The
bleeding you experienced on the 19th of
December and the brown discharge in the
following days was probably your period.
An ovarian cyst can cause a menstrual
period delay for 2-3 months and ends with
a period of heavier bleeding. Ovarian
cysts are frequently experienced by women
in your age group and are spontaneous in
nature. I believe there is nothing to be
worried about. You can wait until your
next period comes, or check in with a
gynecologist to confirm the presence of an
ovarian cyst and get more information.
