Its perfectly fine if its done in moderation and everyone maintains their composure. You cant modify every aspect of your life just because you have kids. Dont raise them to be prudes.

They cant remove your children for drinking in your own home as long as you remain civilized and responsible about it, and dont give it to your kids.

Whoever told you that was either stupid or misinformed.

Here in .Toronto, I know they won't take away your child if one parent is sober. That also goes for smokin' up a big fatty.

Would it be different where you are? Are you sure they would take away your child?

Well obviously if both parents in the home are drunk off their asses with the kids around and no one else there to look after them they deserve to have their children taken away.

But no, not if its just a couple beers over a few hours. Thats just ludacris.

Thats rediculous as long as its done responsibly (i.E., in moderation, staying sober) then theres nothing wrong with it.

If that were the case, it should be illegal for anyone with kids to purchase alcohol.

Sounds stupid, huh? Theres a reason for that.

It is.

They are right chase, they dont care if you drink as long as one parent is civil or that the one that is drunk is ready to tak responisibility if one the kids is awake

Me and my boyfriend will be having a couple of drinks on new years eve while the kids are asleep. I think as long as they are fast asleep and you could easily look after them as normal if they wake up then it is fine.

Alcohol isn't going to affect your kids like smoking in the house cause there is no fumes that are going to spread throughout the house etc

i agree with you. If the kids are at the babysitters house for the night -fine. If you are out for the whole night -fine. If theres 1 of you not drinking -fine. But not while you are the one supposed to be caring for your kids.

Yeah but there is a difference between having a few drinks and getting pi$$ed. It's all about knowing your own limit.

I know that with 2 drinks i'm fine but after that it starts to effect me. Therefore I will only be having a maximum of 2 drinks. Im not out to get drunk or even tipsy.

I think its fine to have a few responsible drinks with kids in the house.Obviously not enough for you to drunk.I think as long as someone is in good enough condition to deal with an emergency should one arise (ei drive someone to the hosital if needed) it should be fine.
My partner has worked in a pub for the last 10 years and is really into the whole drinking mentality. While my dad was an alcoholic until I was little,he stopped drinking when I was a baby and because of that there was absolutely no drinking in my house whatsoever.
Saying that I wont expect my partner to give up having a few drinks in the night every week or so.(i know he wouldnt happen nightly or anything)as long as he doesnt have too many.I dont really drink much at all.Now that i've stopped drinking because of the pregnancy I think that when I have bub i'll only drink if I have a night out on the town.Otherwise i'll always be sober steve at home.

On christmas day, my hubby and I shared a bottle of fizzy wine; I think drinking a small amount is fine as long as you are both capable of looking after the child should you be needed. If you want to drink to get pissed though then I think you should either put your child with a trusted babysitter or one of you stay sober. I never drink when I am alone with my child, not even a little bit. I have no problems with my son seeing me or my husband drink alcohol in a controlled and moderate way; I want him to grow up knowing how to be responsible with it.

I think as long as there's one sober parent around it's fine. Mikey and I would take turns, but we don't drink a lot anyway so it's not often that it happens.

actually blaze, they still wont touch them if both parent were drinking if both parents are intoxicated and cas majically show up at you door >well hell yeah your screwed~!

I called cas about someones drinking issue and they said both parents can drink but one parent has to remain somewhat civil basically not intoxicated as per cas.
