Hiya, 5 weeks ago I gave birth to my
beautiful son and iittle over a week ago
I've developed a ache about 2cm beow my
right ribs! It doesn't ache much when I'm
resting, more so when I bend over or push
the area in! Anyone got any ideas of what
it could be please?
If you experience the pain below your ribs
coming from the abdominal wall, you might
be experiencing muscle pain (myalgia).
Muscle pain is provoked when the affected
muscle is active and calms when resting.
Pressure on the muscle also causes pain.
If you feel the pain coming from inside
the abdomen, then the pain might originate
from the liver. In fact, the liver is not
sensitive but its capsule is. Standard
blood analyses (blood count,
sedimentation, liver status…) and an
abdominal ultrasound can be performed to
exclude liver affection. You may consult
your primary health provider for these
diagnostics.
