Theres an external lump around my anus
which is pink in color and the size of
half a pea. I've searched the fourm and
read about this and thought it was a
perianal haematoma, or some external
hemorroid, but its not blue or black in
color and I do not feel any pain or
discomfort from it at any time. I believe
i discovered this bump around 2 years ago
and it hasnt gone away and the size of
this lump has never changed. Is this
something I should worry about and go to
my doctor? Will this lump dissapear over
time?

A lump in the anal area is usually an
external hemorrhoid. Another possibility
is that an anal lump is some kind of
benign tumor. Hemorrhoids itch and hurt
only if they are inflamed. A hemorrhoid
that is not inflamed does not show any
symptoms. Neither hemorrhoids nor tumors
vanish spontaneously over time. You must
visit your primary health doctor
immediately and may be referred to a
surgeon for correct diagnosis and
treatment.
