well, it really isn't hard. Aborting is better than bringing an unwanted, unloved child into a very poor financial environment where it could possibly be neglected and/or rejected. Aborting is better for those who will have a poor quality of life due to serious foetal defects.

this goes for consentual sex (e.G not being raped/forced into sex).....If this is the case then the person shouldnt be having sex! For every action there is a reaction.... All im saying is if you dont want to face the consequences of having sex, then dont do it!

you are wrong. Everyone has the right to have sex; and thinking that every woman who becomes pregnant during consentual sex should have to give birth to it is punishing her for having sex!

I'm going to no drive down the street, since I don't want to face the consequence of possibly dying in a car crash. It could happen, even though I wear my seatbelt!

I'm going to go be pranoid about every single action in my life, since they all have negative consequences!! Better go live in a tiny little hole.

No. I am going to live, and make the best choices I can, and enjoy myself safely.

when you drive down the street you know full well that there is a chance that you could have an accident, you take that risk! If you didnt want to take that risk you would walk..... Its like if you homicide someone, you have to be prepared to do jail time!

I could be wrong but to me it seems like your using abortion as a form of contraceptive... I'm sorry if you dont think like that but thats just how it comes accross to me.

perhaps you should address your comments to someone who has actually had an abortion or should go back and read all of the comments in this thread.

Anyway, if you have sex, you can be prepared for the consequences of that action in a variety of ways, just as you can be prepared for the consequences of driving. One of those ways is by thinking of what you would do if an accident were to occur and another is to try to prevent an accident from occurring. That way, if an accident does occur despite trying to prevent it, you can safely manage the risks and move along your chosen path.

And, as a final note, abortion can't be used as a contraceptive just by the very basic definition of the two words and what they mean in our society. Contraception, by its very basic definition prevents a conception (the majority of the time) and an implantation from occurring. If contraception fails, abortion is one option. Since a conception and implantation (thus pregnancy) have already occurred, abortion is birth control because it absolutely controls whether or not you give birth should you choose it. I know that in our colloquial uses of the words they are used interchangeably but their functions are different.

if you get into an accident, you (may) go to the hospital.

If you get pregnant, you (may) get an abortion.

Taking responsibility for the risks you take do not mean that:

if you drive, knowing full well you could get injured, therefore you're not allowed medical services.

If you have sex, knowing full well you could get pregnant, therefore you're not allowed to have an abortion.

Plus, all of this is null and void for poor people, since according to you (and many others) they shouldn't be having sex anyways. Classifists.

many places cannot be "walked" to. Your job your school, the store. Unless you are very very lucky and live in a microscopic little town, you will always have to take some kind of vehicle somewhere, whether that is a bus, train, car, or anything else. And even walking, you can get hit by a car! Better not cross the street; even if you do it during the signal for you, a carm may still be dumb and drive through the red light, hitting you!!

You cannot "avoid" these situations. They are everywhere. Unless you become a bubble boy, you will face danger in your life. You will face consequnces...

And abortion is a perfectly fine response to unwanted pregnancies.

actually no i'm not. I am against abortion as a sole form of contraception.

It doesn't make me friends with fellow pro-choicers, since I feel that a woman who does nothing to protect herself and who gets a bunch of abortions is abusing her body. I think it is very wrong.

contraceptive prevents pregnancy, how could abortion possible be construed as that?
