Could anyone help me please. I am very
nervous. I have my period for almost 10
days. Today I still got bleeding and the
blood is still red in colour ( not very
sticky). Usually, I have period of 4 days
and the last day. It is brownish in
colour and little bit sticky. I have took
the emergency contraceptive pills about 1
month ago. I went to the doctor 2 weeks
ago (before I have period) and he checked
my vigina. That time he told me that's
fine. So i really wonder what have
happened to me. Is it that the doctor
cannot check anything at that time?

The normal, average duration of
menstruation (period) is considered to
last from 3 to 7 days. Menstruation that
lasts for more than 7 days is called
menorrhagia. Menorrhagia can be due to the
existence of an endometrial polyp, an
endometrial infection, a sub-mucosal myoma
or endometriosis. You need a vaginal
examination and ultrasound scan to confirm
or exclude these possibilities. Functional
bleeding from the uterus is also possible.
If you haven’t had a period for a long
time, you may experience some heavier
bleeding at the end. You HAVE TO consult
your gynecologist about your problem.
