Q: White discharge during early pregnancy
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 1st, 2007
I will be 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow and this morning when I wiped I had a whitish-yellow, thick, stringy like discharge. It was a very small amount. This same type of thing happened about a week ago as well. I am very worried, however I have no bleeding or cramping. What is it and should I be concerned?

According to your description (“whitish-yellow, thick, and stringy like vaginal discharge”) you could be experiencing some type of vaginal infection. You have to consult your gynecologist immediately because any vaginal infection can affect the pregnancy. A Pap test and vaginal smear for microbiology will be probably requested.
