Constant Dizzyness Over Last 2 Years Posted: 02-04-04 06:09am
I have suffered from a constant dizzyness
and blurry feeling for the last 2 years.
It started without warning one morning
when I woke up with the worst attact of
dizzyness, sickness, unable to stand (this
lasted for 2 days) then eased. I have
seen a specialist as although I have not
had any more attacks as bad as that one,
the feeling of dizzyness is always with
me, if I move my eyes, or head it
sometimes gets really bad, other times it
is not too bad. I also feel I have
blurred vision, sometimes worse than
others and also my hearing comes and goes.
I am really fed up with this now. I
was told the condition is bbpv and would
go after a few weeks or months, I did the
excercises for ages but it still didn't do
anything so I have stopped. Can you tell
me if it is normal to have it this length
of time and is there anything I can do
about it?

Netti,
hi! Unfortunetly, I know how you feel.
In may I was hospitalized because one day,
like you, with no warning I got very light
headed and felt as though I couldnt stay
on my feet without falling down. I too
was given no diagnoses, aside from
anxiety. I just dont' know what it is.
I walked around the hospital for 6 days
thinking I would just fall and pass out.
I have a shunt, so they focused on that
also, but found no major problems. I was
released to go to childrens hospital, but
couldn't go because I was short on funds.
I went to my family physician the next
day and was given paxil, as I was to take
it the feeling seemed to have gone away.
I took the pills for a month, but I didn't
feel I needed them for I never thought of
myself to have anxiety. Well here I am,
and it seems to be back...My face is numb
and I can't think straight all the time, I
want to go to a doctor, but feart that I
will have yet another bill, just for them
to tell me that they don't know what is
wrong.
