Unfortunately yep, pretty normal.
Sounds like your baby is putting pressure on or "pinching" a nerve.
Low back pain and hip pain is usually a result of pressure on a nerve, or, the weight of the baby combined with bad posture.
Remebering to use your abdominal muscles to "hold in" the baby, remembering to sit and stand up straight, walking and gentle stretching and yoga type excersises can help prevent the pain.
Failing that, heat, rest, massage and mild pain relif meds can lessen the discomfort, but you'd need to speak to your doctor before doing anything at all, to confirm it's just pregnancy aches and pains, or something else, as well as a safe treatment for the pain, and what excersizes may help or harm.
Also be carefull about using any of those harmless seeming muscle rub type ointments etc. They enter your body through the skin, and sometimes contain anti-inflamitory medications etc. Which can be harmful during pregnancy.
