It seems that you can consult a dermatologist for a more accurate diagnosis.

Repeated Tias Over 9 Years? Is This Possible?
Posted: 01-02-07 13:35pm

I would be very appreciative of some help on this matter. My father has been suffering 'attacks' over the last nine years, with a high degree of regularity.

From the sounds of his symptoms he has been suffering from tias. 'garbled/confused' speach, loss of motor function in one side of his body, loss of balance, diziness.

However I cannot find any information pertaining to tias of such regularity, he usually suffers from such attacks every month (around the same time), but sometimes once every 2 months - and this has been going on for 9 years with the same degree of severity each time.

He refuses to see someone about it, because he has a distrust of doctors and he is worried that he will have his driving licence taken from him, and as he lives out of town this would seriously disrupt his way of life.

If you could shed any light/advice on this matter, i.E. Tia's of such regularity, I would be able to perhaps convince him to go and see a specialist about it.

Thanks very much for your time.
