Hi,
i have been on the shot for hmm....Well
ive had it twice. For the first three
months I was fine, only a little bleeding.
But this time its been I think six weeks,
its been light most of the time, but I get
extremely bad stomach pains too.
The net has not been very helpful, and it
takes me a good two weeks to see my
doctor, so I was hoping somebody could let
me know if this has happeneed to them
before too.
If not, the net talked about things like
cysts and other junk so i'm pretty worried
right now, and very annoyed, its been a
long time going on like this.
Hope to here from, someone soon.
Thank you,
*meg

I will give you some information that will
explain everything so that you finally
know what exactly is going on.
Depo and the mirena iud both have the same
type of hormones. I have used the mirena
iud...I am giving you this story for
comparison.
So, there are 3 things that depo can do..
Many women say "oh yeah, I never ever have
a period with depo!" some women say "well
I did not noice any chnage at all, sure
wish my period would go away.
Women like you and I react differently to
the hormone.. It causes us to bleed every
single day.
The hormone causes your uterine lining to
thin out, which causes many women to lose
their periods. For some women, it become
so thin that it is like an open wound,
they basically bleed everyday.
This is what is happening. Depo may not
be the best method for you.. :/

I was on the depo shot right after I had
my son, I think I got the shot twice and I
was on my period for like 6 months
straight......Maybe a few days here and
there I wouldnt bleed but that would only
be a day or two then I would have my
period again........I personally did not
like the depo shot.....I prefer the pill.

What your experiencing is exactly what
happened to me. It was my first time
using a birth control, after that, I
almost never used any again. When I was
18 I used it, I had two shots. The first
shot was fine, I gained some weight that
was about it. The 2nd shot was horrible,
I bled for three months straight.
Absolutley horrible. What's the point of
being on birth control if your going to
bleed the whole time? What I was told (by
my new gyno) that depo provera is
progesterone only. That's why you bleed
so much. If I were you, I would switch to
a pill. Yes you have to take it everyday
but at least you won't bleed like that...I
have been off of depo for 4 years now and
still suffer from decreased libido...It
never fully returns get used to ky
jelly!!!
Best of luck

Crazyness..The reason why you may continue
to have libido problems is because pretty
much all hormonal brith control causes
loss of libido!
Any pill, patch, or ring you may use will
cause loss of libido.
Iud's and non hormonal methods can bring
your libido back-if you are interesed.
