Any Ideas As to What Could Be Wrong With Her? Posted: 01-03-07 16:45pm
Hello. My 13 year old daughter has been
very sick for over a month.
When she first went to the doctor in the
end on november she had very very bad
chest pain & was very tired.
There he tested her for mono & other
thyroid problems which all came back
positive.
So he put her on a very light
antibiotic(can't remember the name)
she does have low calcium & cortisol
level & she is a vegetarian and eats
poorely.
Than she went to the doctor in the
beginning of december because she had a
cough, chest pain, tired & swollen
glands.
He put her on amoxicillin which didn't
help.
Than she came back mid december same
problems, there he sent her to a
specialist.
He thought it was pertusis(whooping cough)
but later the cought went away.
They did chest x-rays so it's not
pneumonia.
Now for the past week or so shes still
sick. Even worst than the beginning.
Low grade fever, tired, chest pain on
breast very sharp, rib pain below breast
bone and the ribs. Very painful.
Stomach pain, lower around the ovaries and
hip bone.
Very bad back pain, lower hurts the most
and it's sudden and painful.
She also has upper not that bad into neck
though.
Her glands are still very swollen and all
her lymph nodes are out.
Whenever she stands up from sitting down
she says she sees black and gets dizzy.
So basically I don't know what to do, shes
in alot of pain and she cries from it.
She does have a panic disorder &
scoliosis.
Any ideas?! Thanks so much!

You said mono tests came back positive,
right? Mono takes a really long time to
get over for some people. I had severe chest
pain when I had mine back in september,
and i'm still somewhat sick now. I can't
seem to shake some yucky stomach stuff
along with any little cold I happen to
pick up, which makes getting over mono
worse. Best wishes for you and your
daughter.

she also could be experiencing symptoms of
fibromyalgia.

You say she has low iron: she's going to
have a lot of those symptoms you are
stating, just for that reason. You should
also have her hormone levels checked.

anemia? Posted: 04-14-08 11:19am
Hi,
sorry to hear about your poor daughter.
When you mentioned that she eats poorly
and is vegetarian, my guess would be
anemia. Although I don't think that's all
of it. Anemia makes you tired and a bit
dizzy i believe, ask your doctor about it.
Perhaps he/she can help you develop a
healthy vegetarian meal plan. Also
mention b12 supplement. Iron, B12 and
other things you don't get as a vegetarian
are essential to your diet as i've
learned. Also , just google it. I've
learnd alot that way and found healthy
alternatives that actually taste good and
I can stay vegetarian!
