Hpv does not "go away". It is a sexually transmitted virus. You have it for life. Your doctor will/should explain any risks or treatment options with you.

It depends on the kind of hpv there is high risk and low risk, one is the std the other is the abnormal cells in your cervix that can lead to cervical cancer, I had abnormal cells. They dida colpo after my son was born but it all came back fine. So I dunno what your situation is or wich type of hpv you have. I think the abnormal cells one doesnt affect pregnancy depending if u had abiopsy of your cells etc but like I said I dunno wich one it is you have

Well, actually you are both wrong.

Hpv is sexually transmitted .B.O.T.H the high risk kind and the kind that causes warts (low risk).

Your body can clear hpv on it's own. It is unknown how this happens, but your body can get rid of it. There is no 'cure' for it though.

You shouldn't have to do anything if you have hpv other than continue getting pap smears. There is no risk to your pregnancy.

Nothing is done for 'just' hpv. You will continue to have pap smears as scheduled to see if it is causing any changes on your cervix and if that does happen, you will have a colposcopy and possibly a biopsy (a very small bit of cervix is removed for testing) to see what kinds of cell changes are going on. After that you may need a leep to have those surface cells removed. None of this is that terrible.

You should know that approximately 80% of sexually active women will get hpv in her lifetime. It is not uncommon and it isn't life threatening.

Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!
