Just a thought:
my son was like that, he cried constantly
and I was told he was "colicky". Well I
refused to take that for an answer and I
dug deaper. Turned out he had acid reflux
which was burning his esophogus, and was
intolerant to milk and soy protein, which
was giving him stomach aches. It had
nothing to do with gas. I switched him to
a hypoallergenic formula called neocate
and once he was on meds for his reflux he
is now 100% better.

the same exact thing happened with
.Kaylee, she's been on .Alimentum for
about 2 months now & we've never had
any problems since.

premixed) over here.

my son couldnt even tolerate nutrimagen-it
still has milk proteins in it, they are
just very broken down. I wasnt paying 45
for nutri, I was paying like 25. Now pay
$30 a can for neocate which is used in
like 3 days, its terrible.

Natalia is right about one thing too many
dr dismiss crying infants as being colicky
when in reality is actually acid reflux.
Alot of people suffer from it and dont
know that they do sometimes.
Another thing is babies really like to be
bundled the first few weeks, came never
slept in his bassinet or crib but we got
him to sleep in the playpen>corner.

yeah her doc cant think of anything else
that would help.. We've already had her
on organic soy, and stuff still curdles in
her mouth.

my doctor didnt even know about neocate
until I researched it. Many docs just
arent up to date with this stuff. Neocate
is completely milk and soy free-its amino
acid based. Amino acids are the building
blocks of proteins-so the proteins are
entirely broken down. It has made a
h.U.G.E difference for my son.

Similac made my cousin's son spit up
eeeeeverytime he ate, &he was so gassy
that it was incredibly painful for him.
She switched to the generic brand of
enfamil at walmart &she said it was
amazing &that she never had any
problems with him after that.

Acid refulx for an infant must be
horrific...Poor thing...I pay $32 for 12
cans that need equal part water .......And
its one of the leats expensive....Im sorry
but I would never use a generic brand of
formula...
So can anyone tell me what spit up at
every feeding means?

Alyvia spit up (actually, she projectile
vomited) at almost every feeding for the
first few weeks. My doc told me to burp
her halfway through the feeding and again
immediately after the feeding was done.
She also told me to elevate the top half
of her crib mattress by putting a
rolled-up towel underneath it, or to let
her sleep in her car seat.
She told me it was either air caught
behind the milk (when she burped, it
pushed the milk back up) or it was an
immature... Umm... Whatever the opening
to the stomach is called. I think that's
what she said. She said one of the valves
in there was probably still immature and
kicking back some of her meal each
feeding.
It passed after a few weeks, and now she
only spits up a little bit. And usually
that's our fault - tickling her tummy or
"flying" her in the air too soon after
mealtime.

Yeah the nurse at the hospital told me to
put a phone book underneath the crib to
elevate the mattress.......I just think my
son eats too fast and I do burp him half
way through and as well as after .....

i'd always planned on using enfamil but
when I saw the *major* price difference
between that and the generic I compared
labels and saw that they're exactly the
same. There are fda regulations so it's
not like the generic can skimp on
anything. Also I think I just read
somewhere that similac and the generic
similac are made by the same company.

far as I know wic doesnt cover many
things, I think they only cover like 2
name brand formulas, otherwise it has to
be genaric
im not psative though, my brither was on
alamantium (or something like that) and I
know we were all on wic as kids so I could
ask my mum, unless you already talked to
wic about it, just letting you know so you
arent surprised when you get there
they dont even cover jucey juice anymore,
aat least not here, not sure if those are
just state changes or orginization
changes

There is a certain formula that .W.I.C
does pick up, but you need a doctor's note
for .W.I.C to approve it. You can't just
go to the store and get it - the vouchers
are very specific. It's hella expensive -
not sure if it's the one .Sandy's talking
about or not.

not to use it.
Switch him to something else!
How's he
feeling?? |
that explains alot, my son was on nestle
goodstart and omg he had colic and spit up
alot , cried all the time, my daughter I
am breastfeeding and ocassionaly
supplement with enfemil the one with taht
stuff thats found in breast milk I forget
what it is . Glad I didnt go with the
nestle again but she hardly spits up, only
one day did she spit up alot but I think
she just wasnt feeling good. She sleeps
longer then joseph did as well. So maybe
it is that formula lol

Wic overseas is the best, I get wic here
and u can pretty much choose the formula
for your child, the ones they offer at the
commisary, we still can get juicy juice
and cereeal and eggs, but here u get more
options on that stuff wich is sooo
awesome. Might just be certain states
taht change stuff
