I didn't even start showing to where
people noticed until I was almost 24
weeks. I was just bloated in the
beginning.

I started showing early too at ebout 12
weeks I had a hard lil belly. By 16-17
weeks people started asking if I was
having twins. I was huuuuge by the time
I gave birth! I gained like 70lbs all in
my belly it seemed. Lol
but 7 weeks is very early to begin
showing.

Hey jae and foxy- I think that you are
right and I am only six weeks along. I
think that everyone that I see is confused
because my cycle is usally a little messed
up. I think that I am 6 weeks. They
haven't given me an ultrasound yet so
after that they will know better but they
think that they are correct. Oh well,
we'll know whenever I do get an u/s. I am
a little confused right now but I blame
that on my feeling sick all the time.
Btw- is anyone planning on using a midwife
that is within a drs group?

I didn't start showing until I was 35
weeks. Up until then I just looked fat
and people were shocked when I told them I
was pregnant and due in a month. Crazy!

Hey musik - I think you're only 6 weeks as
well, but like I said, you never know
until you get in for your first u/s!! I
was just going off the dates you gave me
and my own! I think we're only 2 days
apart!
As far as nicky's belly - she looks like a
very small girl, so yeah, I think it's her
"baby belly". Of course as women we all
(ok, well for those of you that don't, be
thankful!) have our little "belly pouch",
but I know for a fact that my belly is
bloated and rock hard and it is sticking
out just as much as nicky's and i'm a week
behind her, sooooooo it's not her "baby"
showing obviously, it's her uterus growing
and moving and muscles tightening and
water retention.....You know, for some it
just happens faster and gets
bigger!!!!!!!!!

Jae, .I'm gonna have to disagree with you
somewhat. It's really not possible to
have a "baby belly" at 5, 6, or 7 weeks.
True, your muscles are starting to get
ready to stretch, you're bloated, &may
have some water retention, but you can't
show that early. &.It's definitely
not your uterus growing (yet).. Because
it is waaaaay down low &tucked way
behind your pubic bone. You definitely
wouldn't be able to feel it, either. If
your stomach is rock hard, then you must
have abs of steel or something.. Lol!
Point being.. You guys aren't poking out
or showing because scientifically, there
is no way. But the good news is you're
bloated &can *blame* it on the
pregnancy!

Krissy's right, at 7 weeks you can just
barly see a heart beat, and you have to
have a transvaginal ultrasound cause its
too far under your pubic bone, and yes
that includes your uterus being under your
pubic bone, no ones trying to be mean or
make fun of you or anything like that
(incase thats how your taking it) everyone
is just stating a fact

I hear you girls....I do, but I still
think that your belly can begin to "pop"
out a bit b/c of all that's going on. And
you're right, you typically do not start
to "show" this early. My gf weighed 110
pounds before she got pregnant, and at 8
weeks, I could see her belly had popped a
bit - maybe it's just different for
everyone?!
Anyways, I agree, eating more, exercising
less, etc.....Can all effect some weight
gain and belly size.
I know that I am bloated (ok and well got
a pudgy belly to begin with! ) and I can feel my
uterus or something 'cause I am getting
those hurtful tightening sensations, and
my belly is getting much harder to "suck
in" so to speak!!!! Ahhh well, let's just
call it a bloated baby belly - you know
what I mean!
Idony - didn't think anyone was being
mean, just trying to say that everyone's
body is different, and that yes, it's just
alot of bloating, etc...That's going on
that's making her show right now! I don't
disagree with what anyone's said!

Lol, as much as I would like to think that
I see "baby" when I see my now pudgy tummy
I think that it is all bloating. I always
get bloated before I start my period and
my sisters always predicted that I would
get bloated when I got pregnant. I guess
that they were right. I did have a flat
stomach before I got pregnant. When I got
married I was 5'8" and 118 lbs wearing a
size 4. Now I weigh around 125 and am not
so small I
have had to buy bigger clothes and a
bigger bra but yeah, I really don't hink
that I am baby fat yet!
Wow, that was alot of rambling to say one
thing

Foxy, you crack me up. I think you
nailed it with me! I am fairly small
(weight about 105) and am 10 weeks
pregnant with my second. I "started to
show" at 7 weeks or so. Well, I am
pooching out right now, a lot. I was
going to take a pregnancy picture but went
to the mirror and sucked it in...Low and
behold, my pouch disappeared - all but
some pudginess I quite frankly never knew
existed until this pregnancy. I can
pinch a good two inches and most of it is
not hard. So, it is good old flab and a
little bloat! It will be good for the
baby but I just think it's so funny. I
probably did suck in before or just
started eating a lot when I found out I
was pregnant because my low weight worried
me much! Thank goodness I am gaining:) I
just didn't think I would gain all the
extra calories in my stomach. It's all
good.

just didnt want anyone taking anything the

especially when we are pregnant, with all
those damn hormones lol

belly at 7 weeks Posted: 03-23-08 13:51pm
everyone is different but at 7 weeks the
uterus should be EXPANDING and the
ligaments in your BELLY should be
stretching. If you already have a belly
then naturally, it will stick out a little
bit but no pregnant woman should try to
suck it in or hide it:) its amazing what
your body can do as a woman! i am 7 weeks
and have a little belly like the
picture..and im only 130 lbs. i guess my
body is preparing early:) yay! i cant
wait:) its a beautiful thing!
take care
