Wondering What These Bumps Are. Posted: 01-07-07 09:50am
Basically, I have recently broken out with
2-3 small sores (about 3 mm in diameter)
in my pubic region. I have never had any
type of std before, and my boyfriend hasnt
either. We have been in a monogomus
relationship for two years, and have never
had any scares of anything before. My
first thought was maybe I have
herpes/genital warts, but is it possible
to get herpes/genital warts from a partner
who has never showed symptoms?
As well as the little bumps/sores (which
are reddish whitish), I also noticed a bit
of burning with urination, mild increases
in discharge, have a swollen lymph gland
in the area, and some mild lower abdomen
pain. I am planning on going to the
doctor, but it takes a while to get in so
im wondering if this sounds familiar to
anyone in the meantime!

Well- don't quote me- but that looks like
genital herpes.
Only a real doctor could tell you- by
taking a swab of the sore[s]. Hope you
are feeling better and good luck.

I am getting checked in about 6 days
(hopefully they wont go away before them),
but what im wondering mostly is,
can someone really have herpes and never
show a symptom or have any idea they have
it for 2.5-3 years? I know it can be
passed when there are no symptoms, but I
was under the impression that it wasn't
one of those 'quiet' viral infections.

Herpes isn't a quiet infection...Well it
can be, but it always gives an outbreak in
the beginning.
My wife suggested that it may be ingrown
hairs. She gets that when she trims and
it looks like an std but it isn't.
