i have read that you should be eating 300 calories more than you normally eat (eating for 2 is only a myth). That's amounts to like 2 glasses of milk....Thisis if you are of normal weight, if you are overweight do not increase the calories.

Make sure all of your food is cooked properly (no raw or undercooked meats and seafood) and no soft and un-pasturized milk or cheese.

Limit the amount of seafood you eat because some contain alot of mercury (e.G. Limit yourself to 2 small tins of tuna a week)

take a prenatal vitamin (some women prefer to take a flintstone and supplement with folic acid)

eat a well balanced diet with dairy, fruits, veggies, whole grain/complex carbs and protein.....Try to limit the intake of sugar & sweets.

Hope this helps

Extremely eHealthy
Foxy has it right on the mark

eat normal well balanced meals, as long as your getting friuts veggies meat dairy and all the other wonderful food pyramid stuff youll be fine and so will your baby

theres lots of sites that can give you better breakdowns, I could find some if youd like but all you gotta do is google search it and im sure youll get some great ones

the book I got from my doc (while waiting) says grains=6-11 servings fruits=2-4 veggies=3-5 dairy=2-3 protein (meat eggs nuts etc)=2-3 fats/oils/sweet=use sparingly
limit caffine, artifical sweeteners, exsess salt, excess sweetener
plenty of water, if you have a craving indulge, if you have an adversion dont force yourself
its just a lot of common sence stuff really
