Pituitary Adenoma Posted: 02-04-04 19:35pm
Hi,
i'm new to this forum. I am a
psychologist working in a maximum security
prison and just had a patient transfer to
me that has been diagnosed with a
pituitary adenoma. I am just
familiarizing myself with the case, but
there is some suggestion in the mental
health record that without compliance with
medications to manage this tumor, the
patient has been prone to episodes of
paranoid delusions, agitation, mood
swings, and aggressive behavior. I was
just wondering if this were a common
occurrence with these types of tumors or
if there is any information that can be
shed re: a possible psychotic disorder and
these types of tumors. Thanks so much.
