Rather blurry, but nonetheless:

it's on my forearm, pink in color, about
1cm in diameter. In the center, there's
a raised (0.5mm or so) bump about 3mm in
diameter that is hard to the touch and the
skin appears to have peeled off it (ridge
around the circumference); at the center
of it there's a small, "dried-blood" red
(blood vessel i'm guessing). The area
surrounding is noticeably shiny. No
associated pain or sensitivity.
I think it's been there for maybe 6-9
months, can't really be sure. At first I
thought it was a spider bite so I didn't
pay it much attention, and then forgot
about it (it's more on the outside of my
forearm so not as noticeable); only
recently occurred to me that it might be
something more sinister.
Anywho i'm 21, medium brown hair,
blue/green eyes, relative couch potato as
a child so no real bad sunburns/extensive
sun exposure. I'm guessing this is
either basal or squamous cell carcinoma,
potentially more aggressive due to both my
age and the shiny ring around it? I'll
be getting it checked out sometime next
week through the health center of my
college; can general practitioners do the
biopsy? I'm not sure if the school
offers consultation with a dermatologist,
and if not my hmo will probably make me
wait about 6 months (notoriously hard to
schedule an appt). Also, when people
get these at a young age and seemingly not
due to previous sun exposure, is there an
increased likelihood of developing more?
Thanks!
