Oh wow congrats and love the name.
(were you spying on the poll lol)
good job on the labour, you sure got a pretty little girl out of it.

And has to be said "cheeks" lol

time and patience with the breast feeding, time and patience. It's a big job for you both to learn, especially when neither of you has done it before.

Welcome "little" Rowan!!!!
Posted: 01-10-07 16:01pm

Wow, look at her- she's fabulous.
She's a big girl, i've never seen a newborn so kinda plump and smooth looking, and such a nice skin-tone, most of them (including mine, nobody get offended) look a bit like strange boiled little creatures. I can't believe she's happy to lie all sprawled out and unwrapped like that.
And her hair!!! She's awesome.
Does she have an extra nipple there, or is that just some kinda shadow or smudge or something?

And well done you. Congratulations.
Don't feel bad about the breastfeeding, it's hard to learn- for both of you.
Well done for sticking with it, it's so .H.A.R.D watching your baby scream and be upset, and feeling helpless, and thinking they are hungry.
Somehow, I think loving them so much makes it harder- you just .L.O.V.E them soo soo much, and they're so vulnerable.
It just breaks your heart doesn't it.
She's probably just finding the outside worls strange and confusing, she feels a bit 'wrong" somehow, and doesn't know what to do about it.
She'll settle.
You'll be a fantastic mother.

Congrats tanya! She is beautiful. I know the first few weeks-actually months are very exhausting. Hang in there. It becomes so much more rewarding when they start to give a little back.

Wow! Her hair is really light. My son was born with extremely dark hair and it turned blond. Your baby is so beautiful. El: you're right, most babies do look like "strange boiled creatures!" ha ha. Tanya, yours does not.

so who do you think she looks like? I can't wait to see her with her eyes open!

she barely opens her eyes! Sometimes she opens one a little bit and peaks at me with one eye, it's so funny. I really see erik in her but people have been telling me she looks like me. Both my parents thinks she looks a lot like my sister when she was born. And the last picture is also my favourite bridget! Out of all the pictures from the hospital.

of course... But it was really more important for me to do the right thing than do what made me happy. I still feel sad that she should have a proper family and I can't give her that.

Does she have an extra nipple there, or is that just some kinda shadow or smudge or something?

yes she'll sleep completely naked, she doesn't care about that, and I think that's why she fall asleep so easy at the boob. I always get her in her diaper so she'll be a bit uncomfy and stay awake but it doesn't work at all. She also just smushes up her face when I wet it with a wet cloth but doesn't wake up or move! She's funny.

And no she does not have a third nipple! Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation
haha

oh geez yes. It even hurts when I fart... what? I'm just scared of down there now, i'm so scared of ripping a stitch or something.

i wouldn't say it was "easy" but I mean, I didn't have time to think really and I seriously forgot almost directly after it. Like if someone said "describe what labour feels like" I really wouldn't be able to... But seriously i'ld rather redo my whole labour than this breastfeeding hell. She really doesn't look that new bornish to me, like not all floppy and stuff. I like it because i'm not scared to bring her into the bed and handle her and such. Cause she's always on my boob she's always in my arms ( she's been down on her own for less than an hour since she's been home), and if she was really tiny it would be a lot scarier for me.

no, I couldn't think really, it just felt so sureal, like it was happening to someone else. I watch a baby story and always imagine those woman feeling so many emotions when they see their babies, but really it was just a shock, too much at once to really think and feel. I know that they only put her on me for a second, and I asked why she wasn't crying and they took her away right away and then when I was looking through the pictures my family took she had an oxygen mask put on her face and stuff. I had no idea at the time but I remember I kept asking why she wasn't crying and being terrified something was wrong! I cried when I watched her sleeping, mostly because I thought about how in my pregnancy I wished I was the type of person who could take the easy way out without hating myself, and looking at her and thinking that even for a minute I had wanted an abortion made me bawl and feel really sick. I couldn't imagine her dead, and I can't imagine feeling like that, watching her I just felt so horrible because she's so perfect I couldn't believe I felt like that.

oh my gosh kania is so nuts during labour! She gets so serious and mean, and she's really mean to the nurses, did you realize? The nurses there are sooo great though. Lacey said she went and saw your little boy and that he's beautiful and made her want more babies!

And thank you everyone for your lovely comments! Today, even though she's had two cluster type feedings, each for about 6 hours, it's soooo much better. I don't mind at all, I can just go on the computer or watch tv or my favourite, eat, and do it. What makes it really better is that she isn't getting upset like she was in the hospital. I really think that in the hospital I was extra stressed and all those people around and the noise made things worse, and that she sensed that stress and fed off it, because she's seriously so much calmer today and so am i!

One more for you!
