I am switching my anti-depressant from 75mg of effexor xr to 100mg of zoloft. The reason for this is because my doc wanted to up my dose of effexor from 75 to 150 mg. For some reason my insurance company won't cover effexor any longer. They will however cover zoloft. So my doctor told me to take the rest of my effexor which is 6 more days, then start taking 1 zoloft a day. I am kind of scared of the change and I am wondering if I will gain weight from it. Have any of you had any bad side effects from zoloft? Do you think I will have problems switching from effexor to zoloft. I am so paranoid and afraid I will have bad effects from switching maybe seizures or something just because of changing meds. And then like I said I would just like to know if any of you experienced any bad side effects from just taking zoloft. Any sex drive changes?

Hi sara Smile
i'm on zoloft (275mg) and I used to be on effexor but I didn't like it. I didnt experience any weight gain but expect some sex drive alterations! It makes you....For lack of a better word never feel horny! Lol but I weigh out what I would be like without it and I would rather have little sex and be happy then have lots of sex and be miserable

That is so true...Thanks for replying to me. I hope the transition for me goes well and I hope it makes me feel a little better. Effexor almost seemed to stop working for me.
