Two Questions. Maternity Leave & Hiccups.

Allo allo, lovely ladies.
I have two questions.
As you guys know, .I work in retail,
&.I'll be 31wks on .Monday. They
want to know when my last day is going to
be so they can have time to find someone
to replace me, but .I don't know what to
tell them! Especially now that there's
talk of me possibly having to be induced a
few weeks early if .Gabe is too big
&blah blah blah. &.Work is
already hard for me- even when .I get a
break, it's really hard on my body. So
when do you guys think is appropriate to
tell them .I'll be leaving? I was
thinking around .February 5th when .I'll
be 34wks? What do you guys think? I'm
not going back after he's born, so .It's
not really maternity leave. It's just...
Quitting, lol.
--
.My next question is about hiccups! Ah
the fetal hiccups. What do they feel
like? Because .I think .Gabe has been
getting them like 3 or 4 times a day, lol.
Do they kinda just feel like a light
twitching or like he's kicking really
gently over & over again? The little
twitches are really close together, so .I
donno. I'm assuming it's hiccups.. I
don't know what else it would be, hahah.

I would describe them as light twitching.
I had them just the other day. I don't
have them frequently, but I can totally
tell that's what they are! I think it's
so cute .
I worked up until week 36 with .Brian. 34
weeks is fine .K.

Lol, .I don't mind them, if that's what it
is. Sometimes .I just sit there &.I'm
like " what is going on in
there?!"
.I want to work as long as possible, but
.I really don't want to push myself.
Especially since .I keep getting sick,
&it's already so hard on me to work a
lot. &.It doesn't help that they want
to know like, right now, when my last day
is gonna be!

They're kinda like light kicks, but they
come at regular intervals. They stay on
beat, I guess you could say.
I would work until I couldn't anymore.
Like, if you feel like you're barely
making it right now, then push your "last
day" up a bit. If you think you can make
it to .Feb, work til then. Know what I
mean?
I stopped working in .June, and didn't
have .Aly til .July. So there you go.

I stopped working at 36 weeks.......I just
asked my Dr. About it and he asked me
when I was ready.......He just wrote a Dr.
Note saying when my last day will be and
I just gave it to my boss...
As for the hiccups.......My baby also gets
them alot(she has them as we
speak....Lol.).......It does just feel
twitching, or like a jumping feeling.

To me it feels like someone is lightly
doing it the inside of my uterus with
their fingers. It would be easier for me
to show you this in person than it is to
describe it. But it's constant and
regular. My daughter always got them
when it was time for me to go to sleep.
It wa scute but very annoying.

Lol, yep, it's definitely hiccups, then.
He gets them seriously about 4 times a
day. Haha! He's so silly.

At first I thought the hiccups were cute
but they got seriously annoying after a
while. It seemed like finn had them
constantly and always when I was trying to
sleep. Although I did like the constant
reassurance that everything was ok in
there.
As for working, you should probably try to
work as long as you can just because
you'll be going down to one income after
that and you'll probably want all the
extra money you can get.
I worked (retail) until 34 weeks but
that's only because we moved then and I
had a new house to set up on my own while
nick worked. I was actually going to go
back at 36 weeks and work up until 39 but
I got put on bed rest. I was
uncomfortable and felt like crap but I
knew how hard it would be when I stopped
working so I forced myself to get through
it. I only put in 32 hour weeks though..

i agree, I also thought they were cute at

especially if you are trying to sleep.

Hiccups are the sweetest things in a baby.
Aly will literally sound like "hic-cup!
Hic-cup!" like she's drunk
off the boob or something
i was still working a 40 hour week until
my doc took me off work in .June and
that was on my feet, too. Ugh, it was
miserable.

Lmao, .Laura! Awwwh. Aly. She's so
sweet.
I can't imagine working anymore than .I
do, now. It's already so hard on me. I
can hardly move or walk after working just
a 4 hour shift.

Why won't your doctor let you work more
than 20 hours? You haven't had any
complications, right?
The place I worked was awesome. They
wouldn't let me lift anything and would
freak out when they saw me lifting
anything. They also wouldn't let me bring
backstock down to the basement and my boss
was always offering to buy me cold drinks.
I miss it there!
Hiccups are cute now that he's here but
even cuter are baby sneezes! Ahhh-choo!

Does .Finn sneeze with his mouth? Aly
goes "ah-thplplplplpl" and spit (and .I'm
assuming snot too) goes flying everywhere.
It's nasty. She's sneezed on me soooo
many times and gotten fluid all over me.
And all I can think to say is "...Thank
you baby..."

I think when you have to stop working all
depends on how your pregnancy is going and
how you feel while working...With my first
pregnancy I worked half days my last month
and even worked on my due date (i
delivered the next day)....With my third,
my doctor put me on maternity leave at 36
weeks because I had only gained 2 pounds
up until that point...I felt well enough
to continue with my first, but with my
third, the stress was taking it's toll, so
she recommended I stop working at that
point...

Finn's sneezes are hilarious. He yells
the "ah" part and then it's just a little
choo, no fluids though! It sounds so
fake.
The fluids don't start flying until he
gets really worked up and does what I call
his "urkle impression", he starts snorting
and boogers start coming out of his nose
but with each snort he sucks them back up.
It's gross but funny and he just gets
angrier the more I try to grab the boogs
as they come out.
Oh, the joy of babies!

Alyvia loses her damn mind when I try to
suck her boogies out. She gets soooo
pissed off and turns her head
from side to side and cries really hard,
and when she takes a breath to cry again
she sucks the boogies further up, and
sometimes she sucks them into her throat
and stops crying long enough to cough, and
when she catches her breath she screams
louder because that pissed her off too.
It's like
.I'm trying to help you, child... But she
looks at me like "you did that on
purpose!" "mean,
evil mommy!"

they told me whenever I went to employment
insurance. And I was wondering what those
little twitches were in my belly lol mine

.Not complications, no. But they consider
it a risk that .I had such a short time
between my miscarriage &this
pregnancy. &.My blood pressure tends
to run high. Plus .I'm anemic (just got
on my iron supplements a few weeks ago..
They've helped some) &.I've almost
passed out a few times while working.
Plus .I have such problems with my back
&my hips... Like .I said, .I
literally can barely walk or even stand
after working for just 4 hours.
I just really don't want to push myself to
work longer than my body can handle.
