Please Help Helicobacter Pylori
Posted: 02-05-04 09:20am

Hi, I have been ill for 3 and a half months now with stomach pain, constipation and feeling weak. Within the first three months I went to hospital 6 times and the doctors 4 times and they gave me a stomach x-ray which showed my stomach was full with undigested food they just kept sending me away with suppositaries, laxatives and painkillers. In the end I demanded my doctor give me a blood test and it showed that I have helicobacter pylori, he gave me 7 days worth of heliclear which I finished yesterday and lansoprazole which I have started today, when taking the heliclear all my symptoms went but today they have all come back and I feel as ill as before I took them. I have told my doctor but he don't seem to care much, plus he has never heard of the breath test that apparentley I am meant to have now to make sure it has gone. I am so fed up I don't know what to do anymore, I feel like I have been ill forever please can someone help?

Homeopathic medicine has good remedies to correct constipation and other symptoms due to the same like bloating of the abdomen, excessive gas etc. Common remedies like carbo veg, nux vomica, thuja etc. Are very helpful for the same.

I dont know what heli clear is is it antibiotic treatment? Anyway try gum mastic...Look it up in google...It seems to have worked wonders for me and seems very inoffensive in terms of taking it long term to totally eradicate the bacteria and soothe ulcers

My daughter has been sick for 3 weeks with general stomach pain, feeling full, like water is inside, with some cramping at times. The doctor is unable to come up with anything- could this be h.Pylori? She is also weak, but has normal bowel movements... Any ideas??

Hi :) this bug is also known as campylobacter and is nasty....I've had it too. I used acidophilus yogurt to clear it up- it helps to balance your bacterial colonies ! I still take the yogurt regularly to help keep my insides balanced because I have found that I still have some ongoing problems from having the bug.

I have this myself I have just have the same drugs as you! And have been dreadful on them so ill! And the side effects ! ! ! 6 days after taking the drugs I still feel dreadful and finding it hard to work i've been ill since before xmas and very ill this last 5 months! Back to the doctors tomorrow. Still have all the same symptoms but feel that I may have a number of ulcers i'm going to investigate esphageal as well! Celiac has similar symptoms! It could be you may need another dose of the drugs! But you cant have the same ones ! They have to be different! And if your doctor wont listen ask for a second opinion!!! If he wont give you a breath test! Then have some more blood tests done! Also I have a friend who is a 3rd year student doctor she thinks I have something else!! And the hpylori was a find! But I will let you know what my doctor thinks....!

Hi hayley,

i have hp and this was done with the breath test as this is more precise. My doctor wrote me a precsription and I had the breath test done in my local chemist. One week cause did seem to do the trick now the symptons are returning except for the swelling sensation I feel in the chest. I do have this uncomfortable pressure/type pain feeling in the upper stomach and down the left side of my rib cage that spreads around to my back though.

It's hell and stopping me from doing what I want to do in live. Remember any other hp tests you do to see if it has been eradicated must be done at least one month after taking your last prescribe medication, otherwise you will get a false reading

good luck

lee
