hi, i'm 24 years old and i have been
having recurrent UTI's since as far back
as i can remember. when i was first
sexually active i'd gotten them, and ever
since, i get them frequently. ontop of
that, i suffered from an std that i took
meds to get rid of, which (eventually it
did) and currently believe that i have bv
or something similar to it. I generally
take good care of myself, but my discharge
has a strange metallic smell to it, and i
sometimes experience intense pain in my
right ovary. these ongoing conditions
prevent me from feeling sexually
interested or involved. i was wondering
what it could be that is causing this
unpleasant disharge smell. i've had yeast
infections before, and bacterial
infections also. but i don't think that
this is the same thing. i'm running out of
options and uncertain as to what could be
causing these chronic symptoms. it seems
that everytime i clear one problem up,
another one appears. i have been tested
for the main stds, (all neg) so could it
be a sign of something else? fibroids,
endometriosis?
well, i hope to hear from you soon.
thank you

If you are experiencing a recurrent
urinary infection, you may also have a
recurrent vaginal infection due to their
anatomical proximity (the vagina and
opening of the urinary tract are very
close together). You can take a vaginal
examination, pap-test and vaginal smear
for microbiological examination to confirm
or exclude vaginal infection. Urinary
analyses with microbiological examinations
are also necessary to confirm a possible
urinary infection. It could be that the
same provoker has caused an infection in
both the genital and urinary tracts.
