I work in an anodizing/nickle plating
plant and 90% of the time there is blue
smoke, material in the air from ceiling to
floor and no one seems to notice or
care, esp OSHA! What is this blue
smoke?Etch,nitric oxide?Can it hurt us?
Local DR's act ignorant on this subject so
I need to know if I should quit now or
stay here. The air is terrible like a
fog.Thanks for any help.
Nitric di-oxide (NO2) is a very toxic gas,
indeed. You will have to conduct more
research at the plant to know if NO2 (or
any other toxic gas) is liberated during
the technological processes of
anodizing/nickle plating.
