well I don't know really, i'm still washing rowan with a little basin and wash cloths, cause even though her cord fell off her belly button still looks icky and rawish and i'm waiting until it heals properly before putting her into a full water bath!

Finn's was like that too. I would just dab it with a wet cloth and pat it dry, sometimes i'd wipe around it with an alcohol swab. I actually didn't put him in the water for his bath until he was like 8 weeks old.

I used a bit of triple antibiotic ointment on .Aly's stump once her cord fell off, because it didn't look right. It cleared up pretty quickly!

Reese looks like such a grown little man in his tux! Shocked

Yeah I put alcohol on it, that's what they did in the hospital too. The thing is I think it should just be left alone completely, and I didn't have problems with it bleeding or smelling until after they started messing with it with alcohol in the nursery. It's a lot better now though, just waiting for the last little bit to dry up.

Oh yea. Here the hospital only used a fry q-tip and went around the cord to dry it, they also put him straight in a bath, no sponge bath Shocked

I didn't put anything on .Oni's. You don't have to.

But i'm sure it does't hurt to use.

I used alcohol on juliette's every other diaper change or so. Hers fell of after only a couple days and it was never irritated.
