Tired of the Struggle. Posted: 01-17-07 13:38pm
I'm an 18 year old female who's been
battling depression since age 12. It is
an everyday struggle that I hate having to
deal with. It is really hitting me hard
right now & i've just been precscribed
the generic brand for prozac. I just want
to be happy & normal again & be
able to be around my boyfriend without him
having to ask what's wrong. If you're
depressed i'm sure you know what i'm
saying, but I get so tired of being asked
what's wrong. If you or someone you know
has been on prozac [or the generic form]
& has seen positive results then
please reply or pm me. I've been on
everything from depakote to zoloft to
lexapro & I really hope that prozac is
the answer. I'm so tired of dealing with
something that wants to take over my
life!

Hi, don't lose hope. I know several
people who have used prozac and it has
really helped them. May I ask, have you
tried seeing another doctor? Sometimes a
fresh perspective can really help. I had
a friend who was on 'zac, but eventually
she saw a doctor who prescribed certain
dietary changes, and guess what... She;d
fine now. And does your boyfriend
understand that your depression is a
medical condition--meaning that you can be
in it without something being "wrong?"
believe me, there is light at the end of
the tunnel, even when you can't see it.
Love and light,

Just wanted to show you some support and
say I totally know what you mean. My
hubby thinks I am mad at him and I try to
tell him that I am just really having a
hard time right now. I just w3ant to be
left alone and wish I was normal again
also. Its so wierd to struggle to be
happy and now I look at people and envy
their stableness. I didnt have luck with
prozac, but my depression is more
hormonal. I wish you the best of luck!!
