I hate it when people say (or type) "i could care less" to mean they don't care.

Well, hello, if you could care less then you must care.

The line is "i couldn't care less" - meaning you don't care at all.

I think I want to add a few more things.

I hate people with big mouths

i hate people that try to mind your business for you Rolling Eyes

i hate people who believe that they are the company (company spies) and will rat you out to the higher ups because you put a company pen in your hair and forgot to take it out again before you went home... (yes, this has happened to me and I was ticked because I have cool gel pens and roller balls in my house so why would I want to steal a bic stick pen with a company logo?)

i hate eavesdroppers

i hate the tellers in stores that can't make change if their register display is out... It's like c'mon man, I gave you a five and I only spent 1.07! It's not that hard!

i don't know about the emo thing but I can tell you i'm a poetry snob and I hate, detest, abhor bad poetry! Teenage angst has been overdone and unless you're anais nin, try not to write about your sex life. You end up composing entire pages of vulgarities. There's nothing worse than uninspired, badly written prose. I'm sick of everyone thinking they're writers and asking me to read pages and pages of absolute sh*t and comment on it. Trust me, you don't want my comment! Go ask your mother to comment on it, she's about the only one that will have any praise for it... Rolling Eyes

I hate it when people assume all overweight people are only overweight because they over eat and/or are lazy.

Some of us aren't like that!

I hate people not using common sense.
I hate lies.
I hate being led on by people who aren't what they say they are.
I hate not having enough time in the day.
I hate not having a full driving license.
I hate people who have no respect for personal space.
I hate clothes manufacturers who all have different measurements but label them the same size.
I hate not having perky boobies.
I hate incompetence and ignorance (accidents and mistakes are one thing)

i'm sure there's more.

ignorance is not necessarily a bad thing...Someone can be uneducated about something in specific which makes them ignorant ...I always get amused when someone gets offended when they are called ignorant.....Its not an insult!!

Ignorance and uneducated are two different things.

Educated people can very well be ignorant

Good one mel! I hate men that act like punks.... Grrrr!!!! My dad was a man-man. He didn't cry or complain or whine...He didn't act like he was a giant baby and he walked on the outside when going down the sidewalk. He held doors open for ladies. Real guy stuff, and I can't stand the men nowadays. They all seem like a bunch of girls to me... It's like toughen up, it's a shame my balls are bigger than yours!

i disagree wholeheartedly.

There are many things of which I am uneducated. But I am not ignorant.
I have the willingness to learn and to consider.
Lack of education is not ignorance.

The way that the dictionary defines it and the way that emma is using it is the way we were taught to define ignorance. Of course we slang it up and make it mean that someone is rude or uncouth.... Wink

I think that while the feminist movement did serve it's purpose in granting women certain rights, I think it emasculated the men. They're like little shadows of men or little mama's boys playing at being men...

Knowledge is something we can never get enough of. Those of us who know enough to be considered smart, are usually enlightened enough to know that we do not really know much of anything.

I would define ignorance not as the lack of knowledge, because we all suffer from that, but the lack of necessary knowledge. What knowledge one needs depends on what needs you have for knowledge.

Ignorance to provable truth is the number one cause of false beliefs.

gives definaitions as to my view of ignorance and nancy's.

I've always understood ignorance as the first definition - not the latter.

Quote:
ignorance: (n.) a willful neglect or refusal to acquire knowledge which one may acquire and it is his duty to have.

ignorance: (n.) the condition of being ignorant; the want of knowledge in general, or in relation to a particular subject; the state of being uneducated or uninformed.
