Not Sure If This Is Normal. Posted: 01-17-07 19:30pm
I started taking yaz birth control pills
last tuesday on the first day of my
period. It has been 8 days and I have
taken all 8 active pills, but I still seem
to have my period. My periods typically
last from 4-6 days and on the last few
days are much lighter but the bleeding I
am experiencing now does not seem to be
the usual end of my period spoting. I am
also still experiencing slight cramping.
Is it normal to have a longer period and
cramping when birth control is first
started?
Thanks

every woman reacts differently to
different bc. Yaz is a new pill by the
makers of yasmin that is designed to make
your periods shorter and lighter.
Side effects usually improve over the
first 3 months on pill

Yes that is normal.
During pill use, a womans cycle changes to
coincide with pill use, and right now your
body is getting adjusted to the new pill.

Just curious but, did your doctor tell u
to start your pill on the first day of
your period? Typically, you start the
first sunday after your period but, i'm
not sure how yaz works.
