Need Pregnancy Related Advice....please Help Posted: 01-18-07 05:18am
I came accross this site, and was
intrigued by all the helpful advice, so I
thought i'd share my story and hope to get
some feedback on the issue. So here
goes. I've been in a relationship for a
year and a half and along the way have had
some rocky roads, but things seemed to be
getting on the right path.
Unbenounced to me, according to a online
pregnancy ovulation predictor we had
unprotected sex during my ovulation time
frame. He came in me for the first time
ever, and I thought since it accidentally
happened one time... What are the odds I
will get pregnant? Today is 8 days after
"conception" and many days until I get my
period and I have this brownish mauve
spotting and what feels like period
cramps. Along with that I have gained
weight in my abdomen and my breasts are
extremely sore and quite full with blue
veins that I have never noticed before.
I know I can't take a pregnancy test just
yet, but would it be wise to go to the
dr's and get blood work drawn? I work in
a restaurant/bar and it is a smoky
enviornment and if I am pregnant I don't
want to subject myself or the child to
those harmful conditions.
I just wanted to know what opinions there
are to the likelyhood of pregnancy. I am
also extremely concerned that I will not
be able to support myself financially, and
if there are any programs that will
financially assist someone in my
circumstance. Also, how do you tell your
partner who has made it clear that having
a child is something he is absolutely not
ready for? Do you keep it to yourself
for a while? I've just heard horror
stories from unmarried women who are
forced into getting an abortion because of
a unwilling/reluctant partner.
I don't think I can do this on my own, and
it would be wonderful to have a man who
was supportive in every aspect of the
word, but I can imagine with all the
hormones if they walk away it must be
terribly painful to go through an entire
pregnancy feeling abandoned?
Any information about pregnancy related
issues would be very helpful to me.......
Inexpensive places to buy maternity
clothing, baby furniture and clothes, and
any good advice on what to expect during
pregnancy. I am an only child, and have
never been around a baby and I am
completely clueless when it comes to
pregnancy. Hoping someone will clue me
in!
If u were ovulating theres a great chance
, even if it was only one time, it only
takes one time lol. It only took me and
hubby 2 weeks to get pregnant with our
second so anythings possible, blood test
id do, but im not sure how soon u can do
that . That would be the most accurate.

If it is 8 days past ovulation, then I
would go ahead and take a home pregnancy
test in the next couple of days. A woman
normally gets her period about 14 days
after ovulation and many tests are very
sensitive now. I can't know for sure,
but it sounds like the spotting may be
implantation bleeding, so pregnancy is
definately a possibity.

it sounds to me like it was not
'unbeknownst' to you when he came inside
you. It sounds like you knew. But I
won't argue that point.
When you tell him, if he is not ready,
perhaps you could explain exactly
how pregnancy happens and the fact
that he was there doing his part in the
whole process. You aren't 'forced' into
getting an abortion in any circumstance -
and abortion would be a personal choice,
no one can 'force' you to get an abortion.
You might have hard times, but we all
face difficult times and plenty of the
women here are or have been single
mothers.
For your sake, the child's sake, and your
boyfriend's sake, I hope you are not
pregnant and this is all wishful thinking.

i think she means that she did not know
that she was having unprotected sex during
her fertile period.

you misunderstood. I didn't know I was
ovulating the time of the unprotected sex
until I came accross a website that tells
you the most fertile days for you based
upon the information provided, and most
certainly didn't mean I didn't know I was
having unprotected sex. I'm in a
monogomous relationship, and certainly
know the ramifications of having
unprotected sex; but, have spent a large
majority of time on depo provera and even
on that wouldn't let him exaculate inside
of me as an extra precaution. I didn't
ask questions or come on here to get
judged. I simply wanted to know from
those who have been pregnant before, and
have had implantation bleeding, if what I
described may have been similar to their
experience.
But 8 days later she knows?
Interesting.

question. I didn't know I was ovulating
at the time. You hit the nail on the
head...Lol

That's what happened in my situation. I
had no idea when my fertile days were,
&my boyfriend &.I apparently had
unprotected sex during those days, because
.I ended up pregnant. &.It didn't
even cross my mind until .I noticed little
things about 8 or 9 days later. It was
mainly the veins in my boobs. I swore
that they were super noticeable &.I
started to wonder if .I could be pregnant.
So .I looked up when, on average, .I
would've been ovulating, &sure
enough..
I took a test with .First .Response 3 days
before my period &got a faint
positive.
