Need Help Picking a Boys Name!!!!!
Posted: 01-18-07 18:10pm

I'm due in march and still haven't picked out a name for a boy. This is our first, and I thought picking a name would be easy!!! I like the names you don't hear everyday!! I don't like the bob, bill, john, brad boring names!!!

Here are the names I loooove...But, people give me their opinions about these!!

1. Gianni (they say it's too italian for his last name, but it'd fit my last
name!!!)
2. Preston (i really really love this name, everybody thinks it's cute, but
all of my boyfriends friends think it's a name for a geek or
it's a gay name.)

any input or opinions? ****i've read some replies to other peoples questions, and if you are going to be rude about it, please don't waste my time!!! **** thank you!!! :d

I don't like either of them. Sorry. Neutral

.I'm not sure what kinds of unique names you would like, but the internet has lots of baby name sites that should prove to be helpful.

Good luck.

We had a hard time picking out a boy name too. I don't care for common names either. We decided on jaylon

i really liked the name jarren too. The web can offer you lots of options, give you meanings and origins. It's really neat.

What about a combination of your name and the father. Look at will smith and jada. Their sons name is jaydon(after jada) and their daughters name is willow(after will).

Well my first name is jennifer and his is jon....Lol so jonifer won't work, haha, nor will jennon! It doesn't bother me if people like the names I choose or not, it's my boyfriend that is being the pill about it! I told him to give me some ideas, but his are ridiculously dumb! Haha. Ohhhh, man the choices..I seriously looked through a baby book of 50,000+ baby names and didn't find anything that I liked.

I'll admit i'm horrible when I hear other peoples names for their kids (to my family members only) I react with "thats a dogs name, or what a dumb name" so, now it's payback for me huh?

Unique Names

I love the name kaden, for a boy. It's unique, cute, and it means "strong." I also like the name, brayden (there are many spelling variations for both). My daughter's name is jayden, so I guess I just like that "den" sound at the end. It's gorgeous! I do like the name preston, I probably wouldn't name my son that.. But only b/c it seems to common to me, & I like uniqueness. Just have fun with it, and choose carefully b/c that's your child's name forever! Duuhh, rigght? Lol! Take care, giirl. Give us an update on you decision.

Love, love ~

The omen ruined it for me, too. I used to like preston but don't anymore and have no idea why. I think it does sound very preppy, country club like...Which could be a reason why I don't like ti.

Why is it that boys names are so hard to pick! I have three girls names but no boys names. My husband and I can't agree on any boy names. Actually, he hasn't even given me a name he likes.

I don't really like .Gianni ... Preston is okay but like some of the other girls said, it's kinda common.

Sorry .I'm no help lol...

Wow you all you guys must live on the east coast if preston is a common name!!! Haha. I think I like it to so much because I associate it with connecticut boys (my family is from there) I like the preppy look!

I like jayden but britney spears ruined that name!! And, shocker, my boyfriend doesn't really like that name!!!

Gianni is a fine name, no matter what your last name is. You're pronouncing it just like johnny right, because that's the correct italian pronunciation, not gee-ahn-ee. I don't really like preston either. Sounds nerdy to me too.

Some notes:

kaden is spelled caden.
Brayden is spelled braden.
Jayden is spelled jadon and pronounced ya-doan or jah-doan, not jay-den.

Don't give your baby a name that everybody else has, like one of these. Soso93 has a great list! I love conor, julian, leander, lysander, alasdair (celtic version of alexander), noah, xavier, and tobias.

actually jayden (and all other spellings) is much more common than preston.

Jayden: #54 last year
preston: #145
