Preeclampsia Posted: 01-19-07 22:56pm
Wow.. Ok im really really nervous.. I
know I have mentioned that I have gained a
lot since I have gotten pregnant.. Anyhow
I lost my first baby in april and got
pregnant again in march.. From that
pregnancy I gained 20 pounds.. With this
pregnancy I gained 50. Withing the last 3
weeks I put on 15 pounds alone with an
increase of blood pressure and swelling..
My doc is concerned that I might have
preeclampsia. I had some blood tests
today and im so nervous it might be
posetive. Anyhow what are my risks with
preeclampsia.. My doc said if im posetive
he'll deliver me the following day.. Im
so scared.. Any advice or help.. Ill be
full term on sunday but I am still very
nervous

I have had it. I don't believe they call
it preeclampsia anymore - dont' they refer
to it as pregnancy induced hypertension
(pih) now?
Don't be afraid, you'll more than likely
get some medicine in an iv while they are
inducing you. If he had to test for it,
that means you aren't showing any other
signs, other than weight gain - and that
is good.
you'll be fine. It's hard not to worry, I
know. Good luck!

I had the same symptoms...But no
preeclampsia.
I just ate to much. The extra load made
my pressure rise and limbs swell.
Even if you do...You'll be fine!

Im sorry, that must suck waiting, waiting
for test results that could negetivly
impact your baby is the worst
but just think, on the bright side if you
do have it then youll get to see your
little baby sooner lol
always gotta think on the bright side (no
im not an optomist I just dont like
worrying about things, and I really dont
like seeing other people worryed about
things, it kills me to see someone sad for
some reason)
