Hey! I was considering putting off having
a child...I'm not sure yet but I want to
look into different methods of birth
control. Can someone tell me about the
shot. I was reading about it and
apparently you stop your periods...And
while that would be wonderful are there
not consequences to that? Any help would
be appreciated!

That is not always true-my mom's perionds
would stop for months then she would bleed
for weeks. Also when you decide to get
pregnant it often takes up to a year
before you can concieve again. A friend
of mine had that problem! And I heard
from a lot of girls that it caused them a
lot of weight gain.

Oh wow! Maybe thats not something I want
to look into! Thanks for the info. Maybe
i'll look into the patch if I decide to
hold off...Or just go back to condoms!
Thanks again!

I was on depo for 3 yrs off and on and I
didnt have periods it was nice not having
a period but for some women it causes them
to bleed. Also if you plan on getting
preg soon depo isnt for you. It takes
forever to get out of your system and some
women dont conceive until after a yr and a
half after being on depo
chrystal!

Thanks so much chrystal although it seems
really easy I think the side effects of it
are too much for me and I dont want to
risk it!

As the others have told u there are
numerous side effects but all of which
depends on ur own body, some women thinks
its great while others have such a hard
time of it. Its the same with the
conception thing there was another girl on
here or had just come off depo and she
preggers instantly, I was on depo for a
year and I never had any periods but a
little weight gain as the body no longer
gets rid of the eggie and all that so it
turns into fat but it was nothing major,
while another friend of mine tried the
shot and has now been bleeding for 2months
straight. So it all depends. If u dont
wanna take the risk then dont do it, I
reckon the pill is still the best option.
Have u ever considered this as an
alternative???

Just so you know I am currently trying to
conceive I was just wondering for either
future use or if I don't get pregnant and
decide to stop trying anyway I didn't
want to go on the pill because i'm a self
admitted very forgetful person and I know
I would forget to take the pills and
especially having to take it at the same
time each day...I just don't trust myself!
Thanks for your reply

Yeah that is the biggest prob trying to
remember I have never taken mine at the
same time anyday in almost 9yrs. How old
are u and how long have u and bf or hubby
been together and finally how long have u
been ttc for.
Sorry for all the ? But we all sorta get
to know each other here if u dont wanna
share I understand.

Of course i'd love to share. I know i'm
going to be judged by some people for this
but here we go. I'm 17, graduating from
highschool this year but going back an
extra semester because I want to upgrade
my sciences to get into nursing. My
parents are very supportive and so are my
bf's. I would not have to worry about
daycare as my mother said she would watch
the child which is a bonus. I have been
with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years
and I know later on in life we will get
married. He is going to university next
year, has a well paying part time job and
has an overall average over 85 (lol sorry
im very proud of him) well that's me! How
about you?

I dont know y u would be judged except for
being young and planning on getting
pregnant but it doesnt really make much
difference to me, as long as ur
comfortable with ur relationship and
secure that is all that matters. Only u
know the way things really are.
I will be 25 in may have no children and
currently ttc on month #1 my bf and I have
been together 5 yrs in may(my b'day) mick
is 30 and we havent told anyone that we
are even thinking of having kids let alone
trying, that way ppl dont ask all the time
and I dont have my mum ringing everyday
asking if shes a grandma. Lol.

Well thats the best thing ive read so far,
that u might consider waiting to have a
child! I pray to god that u do... I just
wish no one would have to even think of it
till after their graduated from school etc
and have their own lives going on (such as
college) I reccomend the patch. If u use
it tho I reccomend putting it on the top
of ur ass (its kinda ur lower back, on the
side) there is pictures that show u where.
Ive used it b4 and I put it on my hip
where it shows, but from all the moving
around it tends to wrinkle and not work as
well.. Even the shoulder/arm part is an
okay place. Please wait and enjoy your
last of ur teen yrs.. Or at least
graduate and try not to have a kid till u
at least reach the kinda adult age of 18!
Goodluck*
