I've had raynauds in the past mostly
affecting the fingers and toes.
Occasionally, I would get a cold nose when
it was really cold out, but who doesn't.
Lately, my nose has the tingling sensation
of coming into a warm room from being out
in the cold all the time. My raynauds
has been worse lately because of a lupus
flare and of course, the cold weather.
Does anyone else have the nose problem,
and if so, what are you doing and/or
taking.
Thanks,
mia

I get the ear and nose thing! Lol!
I just stay out of the cold. My fingers
and toes are affected at the cold
temperature of 50 degrees. *sigh*
what do you do?

Brrings On My Fingers Posted: 02-06-04 22:35pm
Frankley, just keeping the fingers and
toes warm is easy if your not easily
embarrassed or simply don't care what
other people think. I always keep
gloves in the car or in my jacket pockets
because the steering wheel or my car seems
to retain the cold for a long time.
Sometimes, long after i'm warm the
steering wheel is still freezing. The
grocery store is a killer, I try to wear a
sweatshirt or jacket with really long
sleeves so they act like gloves without
getting the looks. The same goes for
the movies.
I'm told but you can't judge by me, that
eating spicy food will increase the blood
flow. I don't like spicy food so......I
just can't figure out what to do about my
nose. I don't think I can put a glove
on the end of my nose!
The funny thing is I also get the extreme
red, hot almost pulsing hands, but this
only occures when I get really overheated.
It just looks like you've been doing the
dishes with really hot water. It's not
painful, just funny looking.

Ok here's my odd coping technique...
In my pocket (of my jacket or sweatshirt)
i keep these little heat things *giggle*
i got them out of an avon catalog they are
called soothing
hearts. However, the same thing is made
by sunbeam and
a few other companies. They are little
heating pads... You snap
this little silver disk causing a chemical
reaction that heats them up.
Once they cool you can "recharge" them by
placing them in hot water
or some you can microwave.
Btw these are soo wonderful when traveling
for all of the joint pain.
Also, steering wheel covers made of foam
or fabric... Very
helpful they warm up faster.
Finally, I wear a scarf over my nose when
its chilly.. I don't know any
other way to get around that... *sigh*
sometimes this really bites
