Iud And Bf?

I was just wondering ive only known that there are certain birth control pills you can take when your breastfeeding. But can you get an iud when you breastfeed? And wich one is better iud wise , iknow theres like a copper one and another one. I just want to get the one that last 5 years and doesnt have like reallybad side affects, id rather not the pill , def not the shot or patch I think the iud is better.

Although I might end up switichign to formula because of my dietary choices. I figure its better for her that way,. But im not 100% sure yet, I am trying to eat better etc it just seems like she isnt getting satisfied from my breastmilk. Either that or forumla durin the day and nursing at night. Im not sure yet.

Another thing. You think I have to wait till my postpartum checkup to get bc or can I do it before, they are doing my postpartum checkup at the hospital I delivered at but to get birth control I have to go to the clinic on base. So I dont know if u can just get on bc whenever , even if u just had a kid. Im suposed to schedule my post partum checkup in these next 3 weeks they said 4-6 wks andi know im completely healed but still gotta get the checkup. Prob nm idont got my car Sad hubbys friend accidently backed into his when it was parked and messed up something so hes taking my car all week or longer grr. I was gonna do my appt this week but I cant. Mad

I'm sure you can get bc before your post partum appt, but as you're not supposed to have sex untill then, i'd wait. Even if you think you;re healed, you may not be.

As for the brestfeeding, so what you think would be best for the baby. I breastfed trey for the first few weeks but had such probs and he lost almost a pound in 5 days, that I had to put him exclusively on formula by 6 weeks. He's a very smart, healthy (well he has asthma, but it's not from formula) toddler, so do what's best for her and you.

Sh*tty about the car. Confused

Yeah, well the base is closer then the hospital, wich my post partum hasto be done at the hospital , I figureit would be easier to jsut get it over and done with to get the bc. Since I live 8 min from the base ya know. And an hr from the hospital. Im still trying to figure out what to do. Ive been using formula. Not all the time. Like las tnight me and hubby went to the movies my friend watched the kids and she had a bottle there, today she had one bottle. But other then that mostly breastfeeding but its just times she acts starving so I dunno. But I also dont like the bc pills they are low progesterone I think. The side affects dont sound great. Plus as easy as we got pregnant both times 3 mths with joseph and 2 weeks with jordynne I dont wanna take chances thats why im thinkin about the iud but dont know if that affects breastfeeding or not
