My Son

Hello,

my son is 14 years old going on 15. He hasnt shown any signs of puberty, he is 4"10 and in the 9th grade. He weights about 90-95 lbs. He often looks pale with blue shadows under his eyes during the day. I wonder if hes not getting proper nutrition which is delaying puberty. He feels insecure about himself and has very low self esteem. I worry about him sometimes. He finds it hard watching all of his friends grow and mature while he is left behind. This is what makes him stressed. He has no underarm hair or facial hair and he says his penis is still very small with no pubic hair which is very embarresing. He hates changing in gym because he has no underarm hair and some peope make fun of him. Please give me tips or advice or something!!!!

Has he been into the doctor? If so has the doctor expressed concern over the matter? For the time being maybe youcan get your son to say that he waxed. Tell his friends that is the in thing. I really don't know I do know that I went to school with a kid that had the same problem but he had said that it was some kind of disease that he had can't remember now what that was exactly that was 15 years ago hea could have been just saying that to cover up the fact of not matureing like the others. My suggestion would be to ask your doctor about it to see if they can give you some help or advice. Sorry I was not of any help.

My friend was like that...Very frail since he was a baby. He never ate much and he matured very late. But by the time he was 16 everything started going as normal. Just a little behind schedule

I too was a late bloomer. 9th grade was like 5'2" and 100 lbs. Soaking wet. Didn't really "hit" till after sophmore year. All is fine now.... Everyone is different. Still get him checked if he's bothered. Time will catch up

I to was a very very late bloomer. I looked like a little blond girl when I was a freshman. Secondly it sounds like your worried about this and also quetion his nutrition?

You should definetly be "making sure" that hes getting the right nutrition regardless. I used to kick and screem about what I ate but I eventually got into it twards the end of highschool....And i'm proud I did.

Also a Dr. Is alwasy a good idea. ^_^
