My grandmother has liver cancer. I heard
from my mother that the doctor suggested
her to go for chemotherapy. I heard from
the doctor that there is a new kind of
chemotherapy that won't hurt at all. Is
that true?

Yes it is real. It doesn't hurt abit,
however, it costs alot.
Hi! Sorry to hear about your grandmother
condition. Painless chemo? That is quite
unusual. Medical facilities must be
really advanced nowadays. You should go
to a professional doctor to ask carefully.
From what I know abt chemo, 'you already
know how it feels to take a pill or rub a
medicine on your skin. And you’ve
probably felt a slight but brief
discomfort with injections before. Iv
medicines should not hurt after the
initial needle stick to insert the
catheter. If you feel any pain, burning,
coolness, or other unusual sensations,
tell your doctor or nurse immediately.'
as quoted from somewhere else =p

Painless Chemotherapy Posted: 01-22-07 10:19am
Hmm.. Ive read about chemotherapy that
can be taken orally. Meaning that its in
the form of a pill, capsule or liquid.
Maybe you can find out more about this
form of chemotherapy or how effective it
really is.
For chemotherapy through an iv, the only
discomfort is caused when inserting the
needle into the vein. After that, the
treatment is painless. Different people
have different tolenrance levels so maybe
it doesn't even hurt!
Chemotherapy may also be done through a
intraperitoneal (ip) port. According to a
patient currently using this, it is just a
relatively painless port, and it doesnt
itch. It sits under the skin, in the fat
layer and does not require any specific
home care too. Blood tests and medication
can be administered through the port.
Although a needle has to be inserted into
the port, it apparently is almost
painless, and much more bearable compared
to an iv.
Hope you find this helpful! (:

There is some kind of chemo for the liver
that they insert directly into the liver
