doctor said that I should
try to make sure that he gets at least 24
oz of formula a day to make sure that he's
getting all the vitamins that he needs.
They told me his three meals a day + snack
is fine and to try giving him smaller
amounts of formula in his sippy cup more
frequently. If that doesn't work,
instead of fighting with him to make him
drink it, they will prescribe vitamin
drops for him to make sure his nutritional
requirements are met while he's on solids.
They said that they have a few babies
there that start on solids and no longer
want to continue on formula and some of
them are very stubborn about it!
oni was put on vitamin supplements, just
becasue. She's been on them since 3
weeks.
Butttt!!! Let me warn you!! Give them to
him *only* in the morning!! It gives them
energy and causes restlessness at night!
I was wondering why .Oni had stayed up at
night, when she would normally go to
sleep. They asked when I gave her the
supplements and I said "every night"...And
that explained everything!!

watch out for that.

Yea they can! So mixed grain/oatmeal
cereal. Or applesauce should help with
that!

I thought applesauce packs them. I have
ibs (stress is not my friend, all health
issues that I have are stress related,
lol!) and I follow the brat diet during
outbreaks. Applesauce packs me.

Brat diet?
For babies we were always told foods with
a "p" in them will help relieve
constipation.
Plums
prunes
applesauce
apricots
etc

Brat Diet Posted: 01-22-07 13:05pm
Brat: is a acronym for bananas, rice,
apples and toast.
Treatment: a short-term gastrointestinal
(stomach or bowel) illness requires a
change in your diet to begin the
recuperation process.
For nausea and/or vomiting:
first six hours: in the immediate six or
so hours after vomiting has stopped, it is
best to give your stomach a rest.
Following a period of one to two hours,
suck on a hard candy or popsicle (no
chewing). Then progress to ice chips or
sips of water if nausea persists.
First 24 hours: (day one) gradually add
clear liquids if the vomiting has ceased.
Beginning with a sip or two every ten
minutes is a good way to start.
Suggestions include water, apple juice,
flat soda, weak tea, jello (in liquid or
gelatin form), broth or bouillon (clear
based from non-greasy soup). If symptoms
of nausea or vomiting return, begin the
process again, taking nothing by mouth for
an hour or so.
(day two) - begin to add bland foods like
bananas, rice, applesauce, crackers,
cooked cereals (farina, cream of wheat),
toast and jelly.
(day three) - progress to a “regular”
diet by adding such things as soft cooked
eggs, sherbert, stewed fruits, cooked
vegetables, white meat of chicken or
turkey.
