For me personally, I liked the manual pumps. Our electric pump just didn't feel right to me. I don't like not having control over something that has a suction on my boob (besides my child, of course) so I much preferred the manual. I'm probably one of the few that do, though. Most breastfeeding women I know prefer electric.

I used the old hand method. I had probs using my manual pump. Maybe cause I have small bbs.

I like electric I could pump alot more with that then I ever did a manual one. Amd it works faster I can get 3-4 oz in 20 min, I tried for an hr with a manual onebefore only to get 2oz

The electric one worked better for me, because it has much greater suction, but I really think it is dependent upon you and how much you are going to be pumping. Have a good day!
