to the Teens Wanting a Baby Or Trying to Get Preg* Posted: 02-06-04 13:01pm
I;ve been reading alot from different
young teens trying to have a baby..
Well read this..
Babys are adorable.. Everyone knows
that. .But for u teen girls wanting a
baby... Did u think about what it also
involves? The not so cute stuff?!
- no more parties
-no more child hood
-no more doing things your friends can do
- being completely depended on from the
baby.. If u mess up (which teens are
still normally aloud to do) then u hurt
the baby as well! So basically you cant
make mistakes in judgement etc, u have to
become an adult.
- work work work- gotta save up every
penny for your baby.
- if u live with your parents, they are
gonna ride your ass and basically, u'll
still be the young kid, they will just try
to run your life by telling you how to
raise your kid (only trying to help)
- what about prom? Dances?
Boyfriends? (cuz yes, boyfriend, alot
of the tiem do leave once the kid comes a
long) late curfews? Going out? Clubs
when u hit 18? --- nope, your friends
will be out doing this, u'll be indoors
changing diapers and trying to sleep, do
your homework etc. While your baby
finally decides to stop crying, and take a
nap.
- what about college? Your career?
Homework.. School... U have someone
elses future to think about now, so yours
just might have to be put on hold.
This is only some of the many tuff
consequences of being a teenage mother.
Im not trying to scare the many of us
teens who are pregnant now because we all
know what were in for, im not saying
theres not good things too cuz there is.
But u know what, we did something, and we
will live with it. Why try to create
this hard lifestyle? Wait till u grow
up!!! Also, its not just your life your
messing with, its the unborn childs too!

I was 17 .. Down in downtown disney..
"pleasure island". I don't drink or do
drugs. Which apparently, why should I
hang out witht hose peeps. Lol but you
got a good point.

You know I was just thinking this the
other day....If I was a younger girl who
wanted a baby and I came into this
particular forum, I would say we all make
motherhood seem so fun and awesome! Has
anyone else realized that? I mean we are
all excited about what our babies did
today, what we bought them, our
ultrasounds and such. Which isn't a bad
thing for us..But to a young girl who
wants a baby it sounds like so much fun!
I wish I could invite them girls to stay
with me for a week!!! It won't be as much
fun as they think. And even if they can
handle it for a week...Whos to say 18
years of that?! Don't get me wrong, my
pregnancy was pretty much planned, and I
wouldn't trade jayden for anything in the
world. And I have said many many times, I
have accopmlished more in my life thank I
probably would have if I didn't have a
baby, because I have to for my daughters
sake. Times can get tough. I mean I
cannot explain how tiring it is. Like in
the mornings after you have stayed up all
hours of the night with the baby and not
to mention trying to get dishes and
laundry done. I dread waking up at 7am!!!
But I can count on that every morning!
So..After I drag my butt outta bed I have
to feed and bathe jayden half asleep!!!
By the time the afternoon rolls around I
am exhausted!!! But I cannot lay down to
take a nap because jayden isn't ready to
nap yet. So I have to force myself to
stay awake and cheer up to play with my
daughter. Finally she may lay down for a
nap...And so do i. But she dosen't take
long naps, so I get maybe a 2 hr nap.
Which now when I wake up I am still tired
because I didn't get a decent nap. Eeeeck
I hate that feeling when you are so dang
tired, but you can't sleep because baby is
up. I could go on and on about all the
cons of having a child at a young age, but
I try not to look at it that way because
like I said...My daughter is my world and
I wouldn't trade her for anything ever in
the entire world. It's just not as easy
as it looks or seems. So all you young
girls out there..Take my advice and enjoy
your teen years. You have the rest of
your life to make a family, but you don't
have the rest of your life to be a
teen/child.

It can be really hard kari. I mean I
love being a mother now that I am one..And
I am sure you will too. You will be a
great mom...You just have to teach
yourself to get some patience. Keep your
head up!

Both awesome points from both of you!
Motherhood is a blessing and I love it,
but it isn't all fun and easy. There are
hard parts everytime we turn a corner,
every decision we make affects our
children and sometimes we don't get a
second chance or a "do over". You will do
great though kari!

Wow I know what u mean! I'm pregnant now
in my senior year of highschool... I'm
missing my prom , my safe grad (the
biggest drinking night of the year), and I
doubt i'll make it to my grad ceremony..
My 18th b-day... And u dont ever get any
of those back. I'm starting to deal with
it now but if I woulda planned it, I would
have lived my full teenage life before I
became pregnant.. So anybody out there
who is preg.. Listen to her advice...
And this is all coming from moms or moms
to be so ur damn sure they aint lying!
Lol
