Posted: 01-26-07 11:15am

Landon is almost 5 months and I was just wondernig when do they start to sleep thru the nite. He wakes up 2-3 times a nite, and sometimes doesnt even really eat, I start to feed him and then he'll fall asleep..So im just not to sure whats going on or if this is just normal..

What happens when he wakes up? Tell us your routine.

Finn goes down awake at about 9:30 and he's asleep by 10. He wakes up around 2:30 and 4:30 but I don't pick him up and I don't talk to him, he usually just needs to be reswaddled and his binky, he goes back to sleep within minutes. Then he wakes up to eat around 6:30-7.

Do you put him to bed awake? If not he might not know how to go back to sleep on his own if he wakes up.

maybe he knows mama will go in and get him. We wake up at the drop pf a hat and other people don't seem to so, he may be waking at your parents but they don't hear him and he just goes back to sleep.

Kaylee's been sleeping through the night (except for lately because she's teething) since she was about 2 months old. We found that before she was sleeping through the night that if we kept the apartment a little on the cooler side (i mean like 68 degrees -- didn't have the heat cranked up) that she slept a lot better. Maybe you could give that a shot? I don't know though with it being so freakin cold out:?

well during the day he's amazing! Like, he has his routines where he has his naps and when I notice him getting tired I put him down in his crib awake and he makes noises for a bit and eventually he falls asleep, always! But then at nite I try doing the same thing and it just doesnt work, he has to fall asleep on my pillow first and then I have to put him in his bed , and I know thats bad, but I cant seem to get him to fall asleep on his own at nite time, and he usually gets tired around 8 pm but doesnt sleep til 930/10 cuz he eats alot b4 bed. Then he wakes up around 12 and I dont talk to him or anything just pick him up and feed him, then he wakes up around 3, then 5. And I do the same thing every time, and sometimes he just doesnt even wana eat, he just falls asleep again so I put him back down in his crib and then he wakes up and cries again ( like he wants to eat) Confused

Brayden will be 1 in march and he still doesn't sleep through the night, i'm pretty sure its acid reflex though. I've been giving him a bottle of whole milk before he goes to bed and he seems to sleep longer and only wake up about once during the night, with formula it's usually 5 times or so! Shocked

ya, well he's on rice right now, he likes to suck the spoon lol its so cute, I tried him on oats and he got a couple pimples the next day and was extremly cranky and didnt poop that day, so I dont think i'll try oats again :p but the rice helps him sleep longer , cuz at lunch time I give it to him and then his 1:00 nap he sleeps for like 2/3 hrs. Sometimes, and then I feed him rice at supper too but that doesnt' really help with the sleeping Confused I hope im not doing anything wrong here with his sleeping or eating......

Oni was 5 weeks when she 1st slept through the night.

She continued until last week. But she's cutting 4 teeth at once, and it's expected of her to wake up! Lol

don't worry, he'll start when he's ready. Hell, .Trey didn't until he was 14 months!

Every baba is different! So don't be bummed that he hasn't started yet! Wink

Amelia sleeps thru the night until like 5.30 and then without totally waking her I put her in my bed with me and she will sleep till 7 when I wake her or she will sleep until 8-9 on the weekends. But amelia is on a strict scedual and we stick with it.

Us too. When she turned 4 weeks we bagan a strict regmine.

Every night, she gets a bath at 8.30 and eats at 9. She'll sleep till 8.30.

She used to sleep waaaaay longer than that...But as they get older, they nap less and less!! Shocked

she now takes 2 naps during the day! One at about noon, and one at 5.

Alyvia cosleeps and semi-wakes a couple of times during the night. When she fusses I pop a boob in her mouth and we both go back to sleep. It's working pretty well for us.

see getting him a scedule , I dont even really know where to start, because he'll eat usually every2 hrs when we're home, then sometimes every 3, then when we're out and about he usually eats every 4 hrs..So its really hard. And at nite its really hard to set a bedtime because hes tired at like 8/830, but then he'll wake up at 10 if he goes to bed b4 that because he wants to eat again, after 7:00pm he eats a bottle an hr til 10 pm or so. And ya..Ahh now im confusing myself what I was saying lol.Ahh
