Anyone Experience Twin Miscarriage?
Posted: 01-29-07 19:48pm

My water broke at 13 weeks and it seems I may have miscarried twin. It is impossible to ever know for sure because I didn't keep it. I didn't ask my doctor this during my friday appt but is this baby at high risk still if it was a twin in a different sac??

I am to remain on modified bed rest because we don't know if this baby's water broke and I sealed very very quickly and fluid came back extremely fast or if it was a twin in a different sac.

It wasn't the vanishing twin syndrome because I passed something and it pretty much looked like flesh but was pretty dark - unformed with white around it. I should have asked the doc my chances of delivering full term without complications if it was a twin. Now I will be obsessing for two weeks until my next appt...I obsess.

Karin,

my cousin's gf got preggo right after chemo for breast cancer (which they told her she would not be able to for yrs) at 21. She ended up pregoo with twins (my aunts are twins Wink ) anyhoo 4-5 months into the pregnancy they realized one of the babies died and if they did not do surgery then the other would to. The surgery was risky though too. Well she opted to have the surgery at I think 20 weeks and they removed 1 baby and the other stayed in. Meena is now 5 yrs old and a very healthy lil girl!

Did u have an u/s before this happened? I can't remember Embarassed I was told I had a vanishing twin cause when I gave birth there were 2 amniotic sacs. But I had u/s done at 5,9,13,19,32 weeks (i was high risk) and they always saw only 1 so they say it must have been wayyy early on. Confused

How u feeling though?? Going stir crazy yet??? Confused

Thanks for asking. I did type more in the pregnancy forums regarding my current events. I am very worried again because (tmi) within the last hour when I wipe, I have a little brown tissue like stuff coming. I am hoping that if it was the twin, it's still reminents of that one and it's not another impending miscarriage. The doctor stated that I mostly likely would continue to pass some stuff that was stuck in the part of the membrane that is split (i am horrible and explaining it) as there was still fluid or something in that part. She said as the baby grows the head will press against that part and cause leakage or blood or whatever is in that part...She couldn't tell via ultrasound.

Calling it a miscarriage after 12 weeks just seem so wrong. I have seen the little hands, eye sockets, head, little body.... I am actually a little freaked about sleeping tonight. I guess what will happen, will happen. My breast are not sore so I am wondering if I am losing my pregnancy symptoms. I really wish my doctor could have gotten me in today. If I don't have any pregnancy symptoms this weekend, I will surely emotionally lose it!
