Unbearable Back Pain In First Trimester, Why And How??? Posted: 01-31-07 17:24pm
I will try to keep this as informative,
yet suckers as I can.
I just found out on the 29th that I am
pregnant. The shock of this hasn't gone
away yet. (my hubby is fixed)
for over a week I have been going to the
doctor everyday to try and find out the
cause of the most excruciating back pain I
have ever had in my life. I can not move
in any way with out all the muscles in my
back and around my lower sides seizing up
and going into spasms. It does it when I
just move my head or try to inhale a
little bit more than normal. I am unable
to do anything. The pain is so intense.
I have had so many tests run, they have
looked at my bones and major organs! My
doctor was stumped. I suggested a preg
test, at the urging of a friend. Not 30
mins later he telling me that i'm
pregnant!
I am still taking a 30mg codeine sulfate
twice a day. (which I was assured that
this would not harm the baby) and I was
taken off all other meds.
Yesterday I went in for an ultrasound to
be checked out. We were hoping to
determine gestation. They used the wand
that gets inserted into the vagina since
it's so early. They didnt find anything
but the cyst thinggie in there. They
think I may only be 2-3 weeks preg.
How the heck can I be in this much pain
and only be 2-3 weeks preg???
(this will be my 3rd child) my other two
preg were quite plesant!!!
If anyone knows whats going on here I
would love to be informed. My doctor says
that theres no real reason for me to be in
this much pain.

Some cysts can release the hormone hcg and
cause you to get a false postive pregnancy
test. I had a false positive back in
november and just now found out that I
have multiple cysts on each ovary. I
would ask for another ultrasound because
if you are pregnant then they should be
able to see something with the
transvaginal ultrasound. It would be very
small but you would be able to see it.

They tested my blood twice and checked
some nubers. I asked them if there was
anyway for it to be a false pos. They
said no because of the amount of (?) in my
system. I cant remeber what it was. The
schedueled me for another ultrasound in a
week. They said it was normal to not be
able to see anything if I only got preg 2
weeks ago. Its not in the uterus yet.
I was reading the "tummy and back cramps"
forum. So much of that sounds like what
i'm going thru...
Does the cramping from the uterus feel
like deep muscle cramps? Is this what im
feeling? Or is it different?

...What?
Correct me if i'm wrong here...
You can't be pregnant 2 weeks. Pregnancy
is calculated from the first day of your
last period. 2 weeks would be
roughly(depending on the length of your
cycle) the time you ovulated. And it
takes roughly 10 days after that for an
egg to implant. That being said....

is not true because in order for your body
to produe the .Hcg horomone, the egg has
to be implanted in the uterus lining.
But maybe you mean you are 2 weeks
pregnant because you're counting from your
concieved date(ovulation) so then that
would make you 4 weeks pregnant (which is
still kinda early for it to be seen on u/s
I think)
i don't understand why the doctors would
tell you that you're 2-3 weeks pregnant.
That makes no sense.
