Having An Abortion And Feel Alone Posted: 01-31-07 17:40pm
I am having a very hard time being in my
17th week and having an abortion, it was
the hardest decision I have ever had to
make, I had planned to have one in my 9th
week, but the nhs took such a long time to
get in touch with me. I have had the baby
growing inside me and it has become a real
part of me, the doctors discussed abortion
with me as I have suffered with severe
depression for the past 2 years and it has
worsened since I became pregnant.
I have begun the procedure today which was
very hard as I had to do it alone as my
boyfriend could not get time of work, I
feel empty now and I know there is no
going back, my boyfriend is in the army
and the army are refusing to give my
boyfriend compassionate leave of a few
days so that he can be with me, they
basically said both the issue and me are
not important enough because we are not
married, which means I will have to be
alone during the rest of the procedure, I
am in pieces at the moment because I feel
alone and need the support of my
boyfriend.
Can someone offer any advice?

just remember to have faith on yourself,
and rememeber the important reasons why
this is the best desicionf or you, right
now.
There willl be other opportunitties in the
future for you to have children; abortion
does not cause infertility any more than
real birth does.
Think of the steps you can take to help
prevent this from happenning by accident
until you are ready for a family
remember that your boyfriend does love you
dearly; it seems so from how he tried so
hard to get home to you for this. Know
that he is there for you, even if he's far
away.
Abortion does not make you a bad person!
That is very important to remember.
My best wishes go out to you!

hugs to you. I had an abortion at 20
weeks when I was a teen. This sounds
like a tough situation but I would say to
look deep inside yourself for strength for
that is where it lies. Rely on yourself.
It will serve you well throughout your
life - it won't be the last time.
I wouldn't take the miliraty's stance
personally. I know many military
families (married) and they aren't sweet
talked either.

by the way, i'll be glad to talk with you
if you have no one else. We can talk
about anything you'd like.
