I have suffered throbbing jaw pain whenever I have a migraine for years now and occassionally I get mild jaw pain on its own and stuffy ears, but last night I was chewing candy on my right hand side when I got a sharp stabbing jaw/ear pain and ever since it has felt strange and a bit painful, is this common?

Yes, it very well could be. Get checked out by your dentist or a dentist who focuses much of his practice on treating tmj. Be gentle to your jaw - rest it by talking less and eating softer foods only. All the best for you and... God bless... Carol
