Hi, I am suffering from horrible allergies to the point I had to call off of work today. My doctor already has me taking other pills for other things. Im taking phenegran for nausea, prenatals, folic acid, laxatives for constiaption, tylenol pm for backache and insomnia and now they want me to take sudafed. I took one but is it safe to be taking all of these meds during first trimester? Because I had a miscarriage oncew and I dont want to go through that again. I have been trying to drink lots of fluids, but really havent been able to eat too much for past week until today because of all of the nausea. My doctor doesnt really seemed too worried about any of this, should I be?

your doctor is the only one who can tell you what is safe for you and what isn't. We aren't doctors.

Are you taking the prenates with the laxative in it already or is that in addition to the prenatals?

Sudafed During Pregnancy
Don't take Sudafed During pregnancy!!! I recently had a miscarraige due to taking Sudafed. My doctor told me I could take Sudafed for my cold. 2 hours later I started spottong! I've been doing my own research on the web and I have been talking to many more nurses and doctors since the incident and many of them say do not take anything accept tylonol! They also say not to take Sudafed in your first trimester. Some also say not to take it unless it is absolutely necessary. But when is it necessary to take a cold medicine? My advice is to avoid anything that may effect your prgnancy even if it's a low risk.

I dont think it's fair to say that it caused you to have a miscarriage because millions of women have taken it and been fine, id say do your own research and listen to your doctor.
