Introduction/question.
Posted: 02-02-07 21:33pm

Ok. So im new. 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow and its a baby girl. Anyway question is a little weird.. Im generally a little bigger, and a little concerned that im not gaining enough weight or actually showing that im pregnant. I feel big but not like its where it should be compared to some other people that I have seen. Heres the weird part.. If I suck in the gut.. Lol.. Then it doesnt look like im pregnant at all.. But shouldnt the bump stick out and make it atleast look like theres something there. Dont know if I should worry or if im just worried and over reacting because its my first pregnancy, and that I dont know whats going on. Any advice is good .

Congrats and welcome!

Everyone shows differently. I wasn't noticeably pregnant until about 35 weeks, then when I was nobody could believe I only had a month to go. Even though I wasn't showing I was always measuring right on or even ahead at my appointments. Does your doctor measure you? Do you feel the baby moving? I'm sure everything is fine!

I can feel her moving .. Kicks like crazy. At the first ultrasound the baby was measuring 21 weeks when I was only 19.. And there is no way I could have been farther along when what I thought. And then second ultrasound which was 2 days ago they said she was about the same weight . .. So I was a little worried. Not to mention I havent gained any weight at all. But knowing other people didnt start showing alot until later on makes it a little better

I think if your doc were concerned that she wasn't gaining enough weight, I would think they would have mentioned something. If they were concerned that you were not gaining, they would question your diet, maybe prescribe a high calorie drink with vitamins and tell you things to eat. If your concerned you should mention it to your doc. Lots of people don't show until the end.

Good luck to you and your baby!!!

Laughing
needless to say. My dr is sort of the type to rush everything. But I mean im sure that everything is ok. I asked her about the weight issue and she said its probably better that im not gaining alot because with my body type its hard for me to lose the weight and maintain my weight... And even harder with baby weight. But im still concerned so I have been eating like crazy Embarassed

Im sure its fine, especially if your doc thinkis its ok

im "larger" too (i perfer to say fat but people seem to get mad at that) and I dont show too much, its hard for me to suck it in anymore, but I think thats just the way im carrying, and I just gained about 5 pounds (but im pretty sure thats because im very constipated (sorry, I know that was an overshare lol) im 25 weeks on tuesday

if your feeling her, im sure everything is fine
