I Think I Am Having a Miscarriage

Hey all, me and my boyfriend and recently
began having sex. He is my absolute first
as far as sex goes. I think I may be
having a miscarriage. I'm not exactly
sure if I am even pregnant. I just finish
my period but I am already feeling cramps
and spotting only a week after it ended.
I am worried that I am pregnant and
loosing this baby. I really don't know
what to do.

go to a doctor if you think you are having
a miscarriage.
2. If you think you are pregnant, take a
pregnancy test.
3. It doesn't matter whether this
boyfriend is your only sexual experience,
unprotected sex = pregnancy.
4. A period usually doesn't mean you are
pregnant.
5. Pregnant and losing 'this' baby?
Sweetie, you don't even know if you are
pregnant.
Take a pregnancy test.

Ok.. First of all. I know having
unprotected sex leads to getting pregnant.
We used condoms everytime we have had
sex. I was just explaining that this was
my first and only partner so i've never
had this scare before. I am saying I
finished my period before having my first
time with him and I am spotting like I am
about to start another one but it hasn't
been 28 days. This is what leads to me to
believe there is something going on that
isn't right. I guess I was wrong coming
to a forum and expecting some actual help.
Not a lecture. Thanks for the time
anyway.

Tell me about it, I posted looking for
some advice a few days ago and although a
lot of people pm'd me with some lovely
advice, most just hurled abuse at me, ill
be thinking twice before I write to this
thing again.

I'm sorry they treated you this way.
I deleted most of this post. I don't want
pointless drama.

I doubt very much that you're pregnant.
When was the first day of your period and
when did you have sex? You normally
ovulate 14 days *before* your period is
due. You said you have a 28 day cycle so
you would ovulate on day 14 (day 1 being
the first day of your period). Then it
takes a while (days, i'm not sure how
many) for the fertilized egg to implant.
It was your first time, could you possibly
be spotting from that?

I agree with the previous post... I think
it is most likely spotting from it being
your first time. The dates seem off for
it to be pregnancy. When did you start
spotting and how long did it last? If it
was right away and didn't last too long it
most likely is simply from being a virgin
beforehand. Hope this helps.

I had my period on the 18th and I had sex
on the 22. Thank you for being kind
enough to explain all of that. So, you
are saying the egg wouldn't be feritle
just yet?

If the first day of your period was on the
18th, and you have a 28 day cycle, then
you would probably not be ovulating until
around feb. 1st, so by having sex
(especially with a condom) on jan 22nd,
then I would be pretty confident that you
are not pregnant.

I love that news! I was just concerned
because I started cramping and spotting
afterward. I couldn't understand why I
was cramping and feeling pains in my
stomach. I think I will have to get on
some sort of pill. It happened so fast I
wasn't sure if I could be pregnant or how
long before I could really tell. Thank
you so much for giving me a true answer
and not talking down to me. I really
appreciate it.

For future reference, you can tell about 2
weeks after you have sex. Don't test
before that, it won't be accurate and
you'll be wasting money.
And yes, it would be a good idea to get on
the pill and continue using condoms.

I haven't tested yet for that reason. But
so I understand about 14 days after the
day I start my period is around the time I
am 'fertile?'

Technically it's 14 days before your next
period is when you're fertile. But since
you have a 28 day cycle that would be the
same as 14 days after the first day of
your period. Either way, day 14 is around
when you will ovulate.

I might lay off the sex anyway. It wasn't
the best experience though he was gentle
with me. But that leads me to thw
question of.. What's with the cramping
i'm having? I only cramp before my period
but I am cramping bad off and on for the
last few days.

the cramping you are experiencing is
probably due to having sex for the first
time. Even if it was a while ago, this
is your first period since then. If yuo
had yuor period, you would not be having a
mmiscarriage.

I just got done having my period on the
21st. I shouldn't have another one until
around the 18th of feb. I started
bleeding the night and day after I had sex
for the first time. I haven't had sex
with him since that night but we had sex a
few times that night. For the past two
days I have been spotting and cramping.
Though I just finish a period I shouldn't
be having one so soon again. That's what
lead me to believe that I was pregnant and
having a miscarriage.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I
know after I first had sex I had really
bad cramping for a few days. Its
probably just something your body wasn't
used to.

bleeding after sex is incredibly common
the first few times. Had you explained a
little more, I would not have felt like it
was another 'omg, am I pregnant!'
questions that no one can truly ever
answer.
Some sex ed!
If you are sexually active there is always
a risk of pregnancy, even with birth
control. Although bc make pregnancy less
likely and condoms must always be worn in
the event there is a std.
Generally ovulation occurs 14 days
prior to your next period, but can
happen at any time and is especially wonky
if you have irregular periods. Sperm can
live for days inside of you and, once they
meet the egg, can take up to 5 days before
the zygote implants on your uterus. That
means, you would not feel pregnant until
implantation. Most women do not feel
symptoms until they have missed a period
(although there are a very rare few who do
get symptoms earlier). Pregnancy tests
don't work until a period is missed. For
the same reason with the symptoms, it all
revolves around hormones.
Planned parenthood has free and low cost
birth control. They don't tell your
parents either. So there is always that
option.
Good luck. How old are you? Sex will get
better when you get older.

hey goldyn
i just wanted to say that im so happy you
are so honest. im 24 and pregnant now and
i just feel like sometimes its hard to go
to family and friends with hard questions
or even embarrassing ones. i dont like to
be judged when i get on here. there are
alot of young girls only searching for
help on this forum. I think its important
to support each other as women and not
judge them like mothers. treat each other
as equals. we get enough crap just "being"
women in the first place. right? sorry. I
just think people are very rough. if it
upsets them to see young mothers or maybe
even naive girls then dont give advice.
right? can i get an amen?? lol. oh yeah
and by the way i think its great that you
waited so long to have sex too. your
inspiring.
