Car Accident
Posted: 02-03-07 12:21pm

So last night me and hubby got a babysitter to go out drinkin with his friends snce it was the guys last night here. We were gonna take the train but ended up driving. Needless to say we all got drunk , I was pretty drunk his friend was sober so he gave him the keys to drive us home. Jason was in a rush to get back to pick up the kids because we told the guy we would be back early. Well his friend hydroplaned the car right into the guardrail on the autobahn . I didnt notice the extent of the damage last night since it was soooo dark outside, I first noticed my sideview mirror. But the drivers side door wontopen more then 6 inches. And its dented and scratches going all the way to the rear door. It really sucks my car isnt even 2 yrs old yet. So now my husband has to get time off to take me to my postpartum checkup and the kids to there appts on the 13th. I think its gonna be quite expensive to fix it. Sad but the good thing is we were all ok. But my poor car . Im gonna take pictures of it tomorow . I might post them.

I'm sorry to hear that, .Tink. I'm glad you all are okay though! Do you have car insurance?

Was .Jason asking his friend to speed or anything? Or was it one of those freak accidents?

Sad

yeah he was the one that went and picked the kids up with jason and drove the car there.

We were on the autobahn wich normally everyone drives like 80mph wich isnt good when it has been raining and the roads are slick, wich is why he hydroplaned. Kinda a freak accident but at the same time he shoulda slowed down with the roads being wet from the rain.
I always freak out driving when it rains im afraid of the car hydroplaning and I lose control. Luckily the roads were quite empty at night. Doesnt help they make fun of the guy all the time and were yelling at him when he was driving to and makin him nervous. So its everyones fault kinda other then me, I wasnt saying anything to him not until after he hit the guard rail becauase I was mad . My new car is a piece of crap now. We have insurance but hubby doesnt wanna tell them and just pay out of pocket because he doesnt want our insurance to go up because of it although we cant afford to fix the car right now either I know it will be really expensive. And not sure if there was damage done in the car or if its just external only

Honestly I dont think the insurance would go up as much as it would cost to fix the car :s

Sorry your car was wrecked tink. I'm glad you were responsible enough to have a designated driver. A lot of people aren't nowadays. I know a woman who routinely drinks and drives. She's had her license suspended for over a year now and she's still driving. People like that enrage me!!!!!

army is big on having a dd all the time they are trying to keep the dui;s non existant. I dont even go out unless I know the way backlike if there is a dd or taking the train etc. The babysitter he even offered to come get us at the train station but my husband decided to take the car all the way out there rather then pay for train tickets. Guys are stupdi when it comes to driving though u should be cautious when its wet out but he wasnt. I always freak out about hydroplaning, and driving in the fog here in germany is alil scary too u can barely see like 5 ft in front of you.

yeah its still driveable u just gotta sorty shimmy in the car. The drivers side got messed up right at the door hinge so itwont open very far, as far as I knwo there wasnt internal damage but we havent taken itto get estimated yet. We are waitingon the insurance company to call us back, hopefully they cover itotherwise hubby will have to get a loan, I hate not having a car to drive. I refuse to drive that to regensburg with the kids in it for my appt. Going on base im not worried about we are 8 min from there but im afraid to drive it farther then that
